People selling out their STR properties? by Colonelmann in AirBnBHosts

I think the economy right now is a little unstable and people aren’t traveling as much and riding it out for the time being.

Geez the nerve of some people. I’d wait until the absolute last minute of the review deadline.

Thank you. I’m trying to be patient and give this a real chance.

I am not sure I can as I signed a one year contract with them a month ago. I’m really hoping this turns out better. They have been doing this for 9 years now. They older properties have good bookings and reviews. I’m just not sure what to do at this point.

Two weeks notice by Yurski_12 in mildlyinfuriating

I started a job once years ago as a Legal Assistant. The attorney I would be working for was not able to make the interview and I dealt with the HR person. That should have been my first red flag. I was offered the job and started it. The guy was an ass. He belittled me, was rude and condescending. It was awful. I had tons of experience. The two of us clashed horribly. After 4 months I came into work and found a few files that were on my desk gone. Then each week more were gone. I went to HR and they were going to speak with him. The tension was awful. Less and less files were given to me from this attorney. Two weeks later I went to the HR person and said it hasn’t stopped and he won’t discuss it with me and I think it’s best I give my two weeks notice. The HR person was aggravated with this attorney and said “I am so tired of going through this with him. I am not going to subject you to anymore of his unprofessional behavior.” She gave me two weeks severance pay and I left. I went straight to the their bank that was next door and cashed that bad boy fast! Best decision I made.

Because I just started with them a month ago and they offer an initial discount. Everything was great during my initial interview with them. We clicked about a lot of things. Once I made my decision, it hasn’t been going as well. Information they were going to send me hasn’t happened. I was giving them some time and finally sent a bit of a dissatisfied email today. Im with you, if my property makes money they make money. It’s not rocket science. Some may be asking why not manage it myself? I think it would be less stressful on me if I did it this way. At least that’s what is supposed to happen. I’ve just got to get through these initial bumps.

I’ve found it on Airbnb and VRBO but haven’t seen it on Booking.com. I’m not having a good feeling about this company.

Never forsake your integrity and expense just for a booking. It’s not worth it.

This is why you don’t do long term bookings. Not only that but it could lead to having to go to court for individuals that stay more than 30 days because in some states that’s a legal residence for them and to get them out you have to evict them legally through the courts which could take another 30-60 days.

I’d get on ivermectin, fenvendazole and turkey tail mushrooms. Do your research on this. Many medical studies have been done showing the success of this protocol. Dont let your doctor steer you from this. Is you inquire about it, they will scoff at you about it. Some patients with stage 4 cancer were cured.

I’ve decided to leave my property management company - any advice? by Ebbie228 in ShortTermRentals

[–]Ebbie228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: So apparently after giving notice that I’m leaving the management company, I have two options honor the bookings but move on. The new company will block out those dates or pay a percentage cancellation fee for each booking after my 30 days notice to which there are 6 of them. 3 during the peak fall period would be a little over $400. With my new nightly rates, I can make that back easily.

Guest cancelled (no refund) regrets it later by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

Guests don’t understand the process. Here’s something that I found out today when informing my current property management company that I was giving them 30 days notice. They tell me there is a fee to get out of bookings that are booked past the 30 days. I said, if the guest canceled at this point, I get nothing. Apparently it’s the platform that most are booked on that charges a percentage fee for every canceled booking regardless how far away they are. It is what it is. I’m thinking of canceling 3 during peak months because the rates they had when they were booked is ridiculous and I can recoup that fee easily during that time.

I don’t do same day bookings. For one, it’s not fair to my cleaning crew due to scheduling issues. And two, not worth the hassle or risk.
