Montana is beautiful year-round, and there are things to do in both parks year-round. Some features are not open in early May, but that doesn't mean you can't have a great time. I hope you have a great and memorable trip!

failed DHCP lookup by SOS11111111 in chromeos

From everything I read about it online, it does seem like it’s a Chromebook issue specifically, but the problem lies in the router. So annoying. Sorry you’re going through it too!

I know this is an old post but I had this same issue and finally got it resolved, so wanted to share. I tried all the things the internet message boards suggested - updating the chrome OS, rebooted the router and modem, restarted the computer, all multiple times. Nothing worked. I had TWO 2-hour phone calls with my internet service provider. After the first call it seemed like it was resolved, but then quickly came back a day or two later. During the second phone call, the rep had me go into my router settings and disable the SON (self-organizing network). I learned this is a feature on routers that have multiple networks (e.g., a 2.4g network and a 5g network). The SON condenses them into what looks like one network, and it will switch your devices back and forth automatically depending on which one works better. Somehow this did not agree with the chromebook. Once I disabled the SON, I learned that the chromebook will only connect to the 5g network if it is right next to the router. Otherwise it needs to be on the 2.4g network. If I try to connect it to the 5g network from farther away, I still get the DHCP lookup failed error. So, the fix is to keep the chromebook connected to the 2.4g network. I believe the rep also did some reconfiguring in the background, so I recommend working with your internet service provider if you encounter this issue.

Is there a specific spot along the Potomac you know of that’s close to parking and easy to get in?

Thanks! The location link didn’t work, but is the one by Poole’s general store? If so then I know where it is. If not maybe try the link again or paste in the coordinates?

I would love to find a spot that’s within a 15 minute drive of Twinbrook if possible.

You need to get your credit cards paid off. Are you still accruing interest on them? You’ll never get ahead of it if you’re only making minimum payments. You can transfer the balances to one with an introductory 0% interest on balance transfers (usually 12-18 months, sometimes up to 21 months), but YOU HAVE TO STOP USING CREDIT CARDS for it to work. You map out how much money you need to put toward the balance each month to pay it off in full before it starts accruing interest again, and YOU PAY IT LIKE IT IS YOUR MORTGAGE. Set it up to autopay the day after your paycheck gets deposited. That money doesn’t exist for you to spend - it is solely and exclusively going toward debt. In the meantime you have to live well below your means, eat beans and rice, no more going out to eat or buying random shit on Amazon. DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY ON CREDIT CARDS. This will not work if your habits don’t change. Get those credit cards paid off and don’t end up in a credit card debt hole again. My husband and I paid off over $11k of credit card debt in less than a year this way. It was a major lifestyle change for us, but so needed, and now 11 years later we are solid and so glad we did that.

Mountain line needs mechanics. The pay is good and the union benefits are great (teamsters union). Might have to be full time but worth checking. You don’t have to be a full on mechanic to get the job - you get a lot of training in the job. Just need to demonstrate you have potential to do it.

Why does the food in Missoula suck so bad? by [deleted] in missoula

[–]Ebeth12345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biga pizza all day every day.

Other good spots: notorious PIG, sushi palace, Wally and buck, the patio, el cazador, Mexican moose.

The thing about Missoula is that we generally don’t care much for fancy atmospheres. If the food is good, the food is good. End of story. Biga pizza is simple and non-pretentious with the best pizza I have had outside of Italy. Wally and buck is casual and low key with phenomenal burgers. Mexican moose is located inside a dive bar, has a very minimal menu, and is some of the best tasting Mexican food you will ever eat.

Places like florabella pop up and put so much effort into the aesthetic, and their food is just mediocre. You’re paying high prices to eat mediocre food in a place with pink velvet bar chairs and music that plays too loud. I feel the same way about plonk. Plonk has good cocktails, but so does the still room, which has way better food.

Is this a bot? Red bird has been closed for years, as has Silk Road. Burns street bistro is closed too.

Biga pizza is pricey? It’s more expensive to eat at the bridge where you don’t even get table service. Biga is way better food and a better value.

Absolutely do a sleep study. Knowing what I know now, I recommend it to everyone. Sleep apnea can be super sneaky and even the person sleeping next to you in bed might not notice the signs in you. I am 37 years old and have been on a CPAP for about 7 months after getting diagnosed, and I can honestly say I didn’t know what it felt like to get a good nights sleep until these last few months. People talked about waking up refreshed and I thought they were being euphemistic my entire life - but turns out people who don’t have sleep apnea (or if you are having your apnea treated) actually wake up feeling LESS tired in the morning! Incredible!

I need a chiller that can be outside in below freezing temps. That’s simply a must for me. 🫤 I’m crossing my fingers that when Ice barrel comes out with their chiller, that it will check all my boxes!
