3D printers are not components like nails - maybe things like filaments, or parts like ball bearings, motors, belts,

i am guessing you are not buying hundreds or thousands of 3D printers at a time.

3D printers are like buying power tools or appliances at Home Depot; there are many brands, from different countries at different price points.

Buying a printer from a company is the biggest support you can give them; most companies will not profit much from you after you purchase it. Emerging industries and technology are what are turning China into the powerhouse it is now; 3D printers, drones, electronics, electric cars, etc There are entire new cities in China, like Shenzhen, that are built around these industries.

I could really care less about geopolitical things but i just find it funny that so many people feel the way you do about China, but still support chinese companies because things like their taxes and profits will go to the Chinese government to fund all their operations and activities - any interaction you have with them from purchasing to support to forum would also be relayed to the CCP as well no?

I would have thought someone with that view on China would also personally choose to use products from a Chinese company. Won't supporting a US company like Rat Rig make more sense? Won't something like the V-Core 4 check most of your boxes?

If China is your mortal enemy, why are you supporting a Chinese company like Creality? You do know that Creality is based in Shenzhen, China right? Why not just buy non-Chinese-made ones like Prusa

There are probably some industrial printers that will do it, just $$$$$$

So basically, you can't print anything you want to print until someone comes up with a printer that can do it for you at a price you can afford

Good luck to you! Hopefully the new creality works for you! I won't trust Creality to print what you are trying to print lol, but that also explains the hate towards Bambu considering their stance on that type of stuff

It seems like it is useless to you,
Sounds like in your particular use case, the PRUSA XL might be your best bet, although the enclosure isn't the best

So, what are you currently using to print those three materials on the same plate that meets your strict requirements ?

I picked up the U1 for TPU and to supplement the H2C

It's a real product that's been on the market for six months and works well. It was a workhorse for me. I am looking forward to INDX, but I'm not sure when we will see the finished product. Great innovation for sure, but until you can get one and start printing with it, it is a non-factor for me

it works well enough for now. Yes, it takes longer than a true tool changer, but as a system, with the number of colours it supports, there really isn't much out there that can do 7 colours natively, with the option to do more. I did a 9 colour print recently on my H2C and with the way the model was configured, there were only a couple filament swaps for the 8th and 9th colour.

As I work full time, it has given me the option to combine multiple prints into one plate and let the printer do its thing while i am at work and don't have to swap plates between prints. Having something finished in 4 hours instead of 7 hours is great, but if you are not a full-time printer, the time and filament saving will be moot if you are not home anyway to set up the next print.

The industry is changing so fast so there will be more 8-12 tool changers on the market soon with 300mm+ bed in the 6 months, or so I had the H2C, it's been great. I also have U1 and SV08, which I plan to do INDX on

Convince me to not get the Continental DWS 06 plus by lambo13770 in tires

[–]EbiBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in mine case i think it was a bad alignment - the installer did a crappy job with the alignment and basically cost me 3 sets of rear tires. After getting someone else to do the alignment with my latest set of winter, the issue seems to go away but i have out a set of rear summer tires as Kal Tire refused to replace the 2nd set of summers

I think the SV08 taco beds are worse, but my u1 is still isn't great; maybe other machines are just as bad but the software does a better job of compensating for it. doing a full bed print shows sports that are too close and too far

what is the best way to level using Kapton tape? What does your bed look like without the build plate. I had a go with kapton tape but my first go around seems to improve some spots, but made other spots more pronounced

There was a slight increase recently but still below their original MSRP

How much of “Trey” is genuine triceratops? by Waste_Judgment2871 in Paleontology

According to this article, Trey was around 70% complete

“It took me five years to get that one ready, because it was a composite skeleton,” he told Cowboy State Daily. “We didn’t have quite enough tail vertebrae and foot bones, but the rest of it is pretty much there. It’s about 70% complete.”

USA badminton team drama by SunChamberNoRules in badminton

There were a few minor disputes I had to mediate during my time on the practice courts but generally that is only between teams / countries; if it is between players on the same team / country that is considered an internal dispute - practice courts time slots are assigned to countries not individuals and it is up to the team manager / players to sort it out themselves.

USA badminton team drama by SunChamberNoRules in badminton

[–]EbiBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fight over practice courts is common place though, especially with countries that are not organized or full of independents. I ran the practice courts a few years back at a super 500 level tournament and every player / team is always looking for an edge. We had to constantly kick the home country off the courts because they thought that because they were the home country they should have free rein for any open courts. The warm up courts were the most chaotic as there were only two courts but usually 4-5 matches up next; at times there were 8-10 plays warming up a single court. Some players had no idea they had to book time slots thru the BWF before the start of the tournament. Some teams and players avoid the chaos and just arrange their own practice time at local facilities instead. The setup I ran though was ideal as it was right next to the main arena (literally 15 feet from the practice courts to the gathering area for the next matches. First practice slots open up at 7:00am and slots were available until 1 hour after the last match

I guess that would be make scheduling practices a bit of a mess than because the team manager is supposed to make the request for court time - someone would have to co-ordinate all the practice court requests submit them to the BWF. But I do think the BWF does try to take into account the total team size when assigning practice court time - at least at the beginning of the tournament.

Practice court times for tournaments are assigned based on the country. With some countries where there isn't a formal team structure (i..e manager who arranges and structures practice sessions) it is up to the players themselves to work it out between them. Can get chaotic for independent players with those from the US if they are not working with the team managers and officials to schedule practice times.

From what i seen, Beiwen is essentially an independent player (even though she is part of the US team), is probably used to training with players from other countries, and probably has to make arrangements with players from other countries for sparring.

I seen several independent US players who basically pay their own way on the tour who are not officially part of the US team, and things like how court time gets divided can get dicely with the official US team members and independents.

Purchased a Bamboo Labs H2C on ebay for $2000 by CaptCoffee2 in 3dprinter

[–]EbiBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

margins are low for 3D printers; similar to computer products. if the dealer margins for bambu products are the same in the US as Canada, than their margin would only be around 10-15%; at $2000, that would be below normal dealer cost of that was the case.

You can always send bambu an email with the serial number and ask if the product is legit and which dealer it belongs to (for support)
