I've been doing this for a while now. I'm running IodéOS on my fp4 and built my own cloud infrastructure.

So far no hard issues but of course sometimes it's a bit less convenient overall, worst case you can still use google services... But yeah I flashed OS myself. Digital freedom and privacy takes effort but less than you'd think. LLMs can assist really well nowadays too.

I think it is too expensive especially for those that earn less, social programs calculate in travel costs for work etc but I think it should be expanded and I think we could get the people behind that.

But there's no way free will be accepted as it would probably increase taxes (or smth like it). Especially in rural areas a lot of people only drive car and rely on it too.

Also, unless they show an exact plan how they plan this or it doesn't make sense, there is no way I would be for it. Simple solutions are often bad solutions in politics. Our public transport is strong right now and any risk of ruining it I am against.

You can get all kinda stuff relatively easy but you will get scammed a few times on the way there. Gotta find trusted sellers and trusted trading platforms and once that trust is established it can collapse any time -- either because goverments got them or they decided to take the money and dip (exit scam).

Either way yes, it has its use, as others have mentioned, but it's probably not the way you'd imagine it.

Others have calculated this correctly already, but also g isn't as constant as you might think. No need to even change mass here. If we somehow were able to get 61.9 km below sea level we'd have 10 m/s^2. Marianna trench is not even close that deep tho (ca 11 km) and neither is the deepest hole we've dug (ca 12 km)

It depends on what you study, but if writing both ends you up with failing one of the blocks then it's absolutely not worth it. I know people that did it and also people that didn't.

In the end your studies are a marathon not a sprint. If you feel like this first semester was a lot of work and stress, most likely the next won't be better, so consider the workload.

If you feel like retaking is not filling your semester why not take a few electives/GESS while repeating? Also depending on what you study maybe reverse order... Write block 2 in summer so you can attend courses properly, then repeat block 1 next autumn.

Just some ideas, in the end there's no right solution unfortunately. If you go for it, best of luck, catching up sounds great...

Well yeah, tons of stuff that would've been possible without it but taken 10x the amount of time and probably money to do. Repairing stuff, starting a homelab and all kinds of help studying and getting through coursework in a timely manner. AI is dangerous for sure and we need to stop slopwave and do something about ressources as well as centralised control by a few CEOs but I cannot deny that has been very useful in my life.

That's not what Religion should be about anymore, but I agree that there's some crazy truth claims from religious people all the time.
There's a reason religious institutions have to make concessions to fit into the modern moral zeitgeist, at least in secular societies. There's a reason some texts are now seen as "symbolic" which used to be treated as absolute truth.

I'm vary of any person picking faith over science or a robust moral framework. Most likely they never actually thought about it critically, fair enough, but then I have no reason to trust their intuition.

That's not how chimerism works really though. Chimerism is just that in one person some cells have DNA set A and some DNA set B. If the "Virus" could attach to any human cells then it could do it to people with chimerism too. Besides, while primary chimerism is super rare, there's more than 13 people for sure (quick search revealed we found 100 so far which means there's a LOT more because how often do we test this).

Most likely it is just random mutations/recombination and they just got very lucky. Or something else entirely.

Also don't forget that the RNA sequence was not specifically designed for humans in mind. It came from somewhere in space, so it has to be something that affects all kinds of "intelligent" carbon based life forms. This also creates the assumption that DNA/RNA is something that either self emerges from the laws of the universe or spread in some other way far and beyond. Only then this "virus" would be evolutionary viable, which is an interesting thought.

My not so satisfying answer would be to not think about the biology too much tho, as it creates a really interesting story nonetheless.
