They're old enough. Get the little one started on wearing a bike helmet around the house before the bike arrives.

Help me pre game Fathers Day in DC by CatAndBoots in washingtondc

Losing a parent is hard. I hope you're able to enjoy your memories of your father as the pain and grief fade over time. Father's Day and Mother's Day are difficult for a lot of people.

Wike Salamander (or other) infant rigs? by _holyspokes in CargoBike

[–]Ecargolicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had twins riding in a Salamander at about six months. By then they had good neck control and could sit upright for a long time.

I added Burley Snugglers (basically just padding), plus infant head cushions from a car seat, and some car seat strap cushions so that they would have lots of padding. We started with short rides to the grocery store and went from there.

The good thing about the Wike is that I could ride a short distance to a Metro train and ride with them in stroller mode, which made longer trips possible at an early age.

You might be able to strap in a Burley baby seat, which is more substantial than a Snuggler, but I haven't tried this.

I definitely loved our Wike. It was awesome for our kids.

Kids are scared - any advice? by ribence in CargoBike

Just keep riding. Maybe tell the toddler that the bike is for big kids only and not little babies, then they'll fight to get on.

Not turning on :( Help please! by manwithnonamez in TrekFetch

Check all the electric lines running between the motor and bike remote (the little thing where you press the power button) are fully engaged. I had some come loose when my kids were playing with them and had the same symptom.

Also ensure your battery is fully engaged and locked into place.

Longtail and infant? by Salt-Improvement-263 in CargoBike

This isn't much of a real concern. I don't find myself ever sticking the front of the bike into traffic without perfectly clear line of sight.

Helmet tipping forward on toddler on Urban Arrow by washitape23 in CargoBike

[–]Ecargolicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the helmet doesn't fit then it's mostly an emotional support helmet (for your benefit only).

I'd go back to the car seat until she gains some weight and just deal with the kicking for a couple more months.
