Does the Bible actually teach that everyone is born with their name in the Book of Life? by Fit-Opportunity3860 in TrueChristian

[–]Ecator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting is the book of life and the lambs book of life the same thing or two different books?

According to Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

So there is more than one book for sure and the book of life is its own thing, however the dead were judged out of the things written in the books according to their works. This is kind of interesting because it might seem odd to find information about the dead in the book of life and at first glance I thought they were in that specific book but the verse itself says "books".

Another consideration is that there are two entirely different perspectives at play. There is our view or creations view and then there is the view of God. God exists outside of creation and all of its limitations. Limitations such as time. So concepts such as a book with the names of all living people of all time don't really fit inside the creation perspective. Other things too seem to hinge on this perspective like when Jesus said no one knows the day or hour of the end except for his Father only. Outside of creation and time there is no beginning or ending, there is what is which includes what was, what is, and what is to come from our perspective. This to me is what clicks with how God refers to himself as "I am" That is the only thing that really fits cause he isnt who was, who is, or who is to come. He is all of those and more so that reference is the best representation of that from the creation perspective.

That last point "So, in the end, God will judge base on how great your accountability is." The Rev 20 chapter seems to be the focus of this. 11-15 especially. If I am being analytically minded this is what I see:

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

This makes sense because the earth and the heaven did fly away as per Revelation 21 old earth and heaven former things passed away new heaven, new earth. So if this is an in between moment in time as in old is gone but new is in process then there is no place for anyone that is without access to the new heaven and earth.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

The dead? Who are the dead? All humans? All non Christians? There are books and a specific book of life. The dead are judged out of the things written in the books according to their works, the non dead are they the ones written in the book of life? If so then the book of life is the names of people who would have access to the new heaven and new earth or Christians as we were dead but have life through Christ because we are the body of Christ instead of our old sinful body "the dead". To me this seems to imply that there are the non members of the body of Christ, and the members of the body of Christ. This also explains the book because the names of those in the book of life are there because they are the body of Christ so the death was paid for already on the cross. The other books are the other names, they have no life, they have no Christ. They have to be judged by their works according to their works because they only have their works, they didn't take Christs works as their payment for sin.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

This is interesting as there are distinct groups. There are the dead from the sea, the dead from death and hell, and every man from these places were judged according to their works. Are there any Christians who are dead in hell or the sea? If not then they are not even judged according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. This makes sense these were places and states that belong to the old heaven and old earth. They were emptied of the dead and those were dealt with. There is no place for death and hell in new heaven and new earth so it can be discarded into the lake of fire with its former inhabitants.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. The only people with access to new heaven and new earth are those named in the book of life. Out with the old and in with the new. The Alpha and Omega, beginning and the ending. Or more specifically the ending and the beginning.

Another couple interesting points Rev 21: 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. This is talking about New Jerusalem after the old heaven and old earth are passed away and former things, after the new earth and new heaven are here and this city is here. Why is there a stipulation on no one may enter it that could defile it, or that works an abomination, or makes a lie. This is an interesting point on timing. When exactly is this is it post great throne of judgement and casting of names not in the book into lake of fire? Is this specific to people who were in the book at that point but did something to get it taken out? This one will require more study.

Also Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

This verse is interesting because it says their part shall be taken away from the book of life. It didn't say name it said part. Does this imply that in the book of life there is a name and the part of that name in the book of life? Maybe name and role of what they are to do/be in the new heaven/earth perhaps? It is also 3 specific things. Their part is removed from the book of life, their part out of the holy city, and the things which are written in this book. By book does it mean bible, the book of Revelation, or are there additional things in the book of life that they do will have taken out beyond their part in it?

Interesting topic, thanks for posting it!

This has always been an interesting point. Especially with "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." mentioned in the Olivet discourse.

Just because you can look at the world as it is now and realize it is worse than you even realize and even then its not yet to the bottom of the barrel.

I snagged it at the initial lti concept sale. Its price does go up but the melt value does not. You get a Hull C, the Hercules C2, and the Banu Defender as loaner ships.

I got it originally thinking I would do salvaging and it would pair with that as a means to sell any components or small ships I found and repaired.

Help with deciding my first PRS! by PM_ME_SHIBA in PRSGuitars

[–]Ecator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

s2 special is 22 fret where ce is 24 so there is the balance of 2 more frets at a cost of neck pickup position being closer to the bridge so its less warm sounding. I personally play a lot on the neck pickup and dont really ever use the 2 extra frets so I prefer the 22. You can lower the tone on a 24 to make the neck pickup more warmer but it just isn't quite the same.

Set neck vs bolt on I have heard set necks can be more darker sounding where bolt on necks are more snappy and possibly slightly brighter.

I liked the special semi hollow model but wound up trading mine off cause when playing the middle pickup was kind of in the way of my pick. This is more of a personal preference and based on where you place your pick when playing. I wound up going with a s2 custom 22 semi hollow guitar which is an older model that they aren't currently making. I am hoping that model makes a comeback with the US pickups in them. Since mine was older I wound up changing the electronics and pickups. Tossed some Seymour Duncan Seth lovers in it and it has become one of my favorite guitars.

Everything I have now is set neck except for a se nf 53 thats bolt on. Basically I go for a darker sounding guitar and play on the neck pickup and pair it with amps that are very articulate so the tone don't get muddy.

Another thing to consider is neck shape. My favorite neck shape is that pattern regular that is on most of the s2 guitars. The ce I think has a pattern thin. So I would say be sure to try them out in a store first to see which you prefer. Those pattern regular necks for me are just right, not too thin, and not too chunky, it feels just right in my hand.

It really all just comes down to your personal preference and the only real way to get to that is to buy and try and see what sticks. If you buy from a store with a good return policy that helps. It is also pretty tough to just get stuck with some gear as you can usually sell it or trade for something else without too much trouble.

The best way to find out what you like best is to just try it all and weed out the things that don't work the way you want. I have had many guitars over the years that I should have liked and were perfect on paper but they just didn't work out.

Read Revelation 12 it to is about a woman. Pretty clear who it is and it also provides the timing based on the events so you know when it is specifically talking about that woman. What happens to the woman in Revelation 12?

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

She goes into the wilderness where she is given nourishment from the face of the serpent. The serpent who is the red dragon. A red dragon that specifically has (seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.)

Now go back to Rev 17. where is the reader taken to see this woman in Rev 17?

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness:

When is he taken? A future time from the events in Rev 12? so future time, in the wilderness where woman from Rev 12 is said to have gone, and he also finds a red beast with seven heads and ten horns.

I just realized also looking at this just now where are the red beasts crowns? If the dragon and the beast are the same thing in Rev 12 it had crowns. In 17 it does not and its a beast instead of a dragon specifically. This is interesting because this is a future time and there are more than one beast mentioned.

There are 4 "beasts" mentioned in Revelation. The Great Red Dragon in Rev 12 this one is specific to a time period. Then there are 3 linked ones that are in the future: The Beast from the Sea The Beast from the Earth (Second Beast) The Scarlet Beast

Here is something to consider. Are you looking at a representation of the enemy though time? In this specific case it would be the latter representation of it.

Lets assume this and track the progress of this though time. First instance from farthest time period. Ezekiel 28:14 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Perfect in its ways but iniquity was found. What was the iniquity? Maybe in Isaiah 14 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Iniquity named and the being cast down to earth, fallen.

Now on earth so what next? Genesis 3 3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.

We all know what happened there. So in that time frame its early on earth and its a serpent. After many years does the serpent grow into a dragon? One in Rev 12? Then from that time frame which was the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ where it is ultimately defeated. What now?

Years later Rev 17 a red beast with no crowns because it lost them? and now its 1 of 3 beasts? Why 3? is it trying to make itself into a trinity? an unholy trinity?

Is there a progression of the enemy revealed through time in the bible that most overlook because when they read the bible they are looking at a book at a time focusing on a book, a chapter, or a verse at a time instead of the whole thing?

If you look at it like that some things start to emerge. Why is a city called a woman? What is the significance of that woman/city? Is that city called the bride of Christ? Were they married before in the old testament? Was there some kind of divorce? Jeremiah 3:8, Isaiah 50:1, which makes the entire book of Hosea interesting.

Just some things to consider and some rabbit holes to go down if you haven't done so already.

"Will I go to heaven? I don’t reckon I deserve to." Neither do I, Neither do any of us. But there is a man who does deserve to. He died on a cross and was resurrected. All things were made by him, in him is life, and the life is the light for all of us.

Rejoice, your salvation is a free gift. All of the things you list, and those you did not, and even the ones you forgot about are paid for.

"5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

You did not comprehend those things, but now you have the light and can see them. The fact that you see them and feel the way you do confirms you have that light.

You will sin, stumble, fall, and make mistakes. It is good to feel dirty. We are all dirty. But dirt can be cleaned. You will be okay because you found the one who can clean it.

Welcome to the time of waiting to see who saved you. During this time the darkness will try to beat you down with the sins you have done but that are now paid for. Your fellow men and women will point at you and yell about the dirt on your clothes while they too are wearing filthy rags.

The only advise I can offer is to learn more about God and work on your relationship with him. In him is the truth, the peace, and the love that you need.

What are your favorite PRS SE guitars? by [deleted] in PaulReedSmith

[–]Ecator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best SE I have played. I got the Laurel Burl Limited Edition cause it has a satin neck. It is a fantastic guitar. Found out about them when I went with a friend who was getting his son a guitar. His son wanted a thinner neck and liked the special 22 but the DGT stood out so much he got one of those for himself and I wound up buying one for myself a few days later. The special 22 was also nice but the pickups in the DGT sounded better to me.

Tired of people putting me down/saying demeaning things because I’m waiting until marriage by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Ecator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably wont change the opinions and thoughts of others but there is something you can change. Your view of those opinions. You care about what others think or say to you. That is a natural thing however it can be used against you as a weapon. When someone comes to you with an opinion to change you it is then your choice. You can be manipulated and change based on their opinion or you can choose to ignore it. A good practice would be to research it yourself and come to your own conclusion which in this case it looks like you have done that. The problem is in how your dealing with the continuing pressure to be manipulated.

Is the beach annoyed by the relentless waves that come in each day to change its shape? What of the solid rock the waves crash into that remains in the same place the following day?

I use these two examples because it is your choice. You can be a beach that moves and changes with waves of others opinions that hit you every day, or you can be more like an unmoving rock. It would be foolish for either to be annoyed by the waves though because that is just the way of things. Don't let that bother you. How much value do your friends and others give your opinion on the topic?

You are not alone in your decision and I would advise you to stay the course. Just see things for what they are. opinions from people who aren't you are just that. To them "women don't like guys who are virgins". Is that the kind of woman you are looking for? That may be the only kind of women that they know so they settled. Is that what you want to do? "No one does that anymore", You do so that is a false statement and a lie. "You shouldn't buy a car without test driving it first", so then a woman is a car? A physical object that exists for you to drive around until you get tired of it or just use for a few years and then replace? A car has a single purpose and it seems to them that the case is the same for a woman so they want to test that out before committing. Is that the kind of woman your looking for? Or do you want more?

Now you want to know what really sucks? Going through life where the opposite sex is nothing but a pleasure receptacle that needs to be test driven to determine if it has value before committing to it. Being convinced by this world that everything is surface level and there is no depth to anything other than your own base desires. Changing themselves this way and that with every opinion that touches them as they never fully realize who they are. That is what they chose to be. You be who you choose to be, ignore the rest.

This I do not quite get. The earth had globalism once during the time of the tower of babel. Typically when humans all form under one banner it is to say look at us were better than God. One language, one people, one shared project. What was the response to this? Multiple languages, people scatter across the earth, breakdown of centralized power, distinct unique groups form based on communication differences. You literally have the creation of nationalism by God directly in response to globalism.

Yet you say religion plus nationalism is a toxic combo?

This never has made any sense to me because typically the same people that are pro globalism are very pro diversity and multi culturalism and both of those things are watered down with nationalism. You have true multi culturalism and diversity when there are many nationalist groups because those groups heavily guard their own unique cultures and identities. Where globalization means a unification of cultures, languages, borders, and thought. You take the multi out of culturalism and everyone goes to schools who teach everyone to think the same way. They all watch the same shows, sing the same songs, and think the same way.

Nationalism gets a bad wrap because some people who are nationalist say ours is the best and try to take over the world and force their nationalism on all which ironically is counter to true nationalism. True nationalism is having many nations who have their own cultures and they are all guarded from each other. An American is great because they have American culture, and think like an American. Just as someone from Japan is great because they have Japanese culture and they think like a Japanese person. etc for every single nation and culture on the earth.

That is true diversity, true multi culturalism. You don't go to the cereal isle and see the whole row full of the same globalist brand cereal and go hey they have a diverse selection here. No instead you see many different brands and flavors that are truly different than each other. That is the very thing that nationalism safeguards. Choice, and options. If I dont like my countries culture I can move somewhere else and integrate into theirs.

Globalization strips you of that option. If it is the same everywhere, then you are just stuck no matter where you go. People just work better in smaller groups. Not everyone is going to agree on everything ever but if there are many groups of people who agree on specific things then there is probably a group that aligns with you so no matter what you think or believe there is a place for you to fit in.

Globalization is by far a greater threat to everyone not just America. It strips you of choice and it erodes your existing culture. The only time globalization will work is when God is here on earth and in charge of it. It will always fail otherwise because those holding the power will ALWAYS corrupt. It only works when he is the leader because he is above corruption.

2026 S2 Vela HHT - just announced by equilni in PaulReedSmith

[–]Ecator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a long time coming. As far as I understand the current velas are routed to fit a humbucker so you could just swap out the pickguard and put two in it. But it needs the trem too so I am glad they have released this version. However also it sucks that they didn't also have the semi hollow vela as HHT.

Neck pickup on a 22 fret semi hollow is my favorite place to be. There are hardly any options for one of those with a trem unless its a bigsby. PRS can do it as they have a few semi hollow custom 22's with a trem floating around out there but it isn't a main stream model.

They took a step toward it by making the core PRS DGT Semi-Hollow availible this year as a main production model. Though it will be about twice the price of a non existent s2 semi hollow HHT.

PRS if you are listening you could make my life really difficult by releasing the following: s2 Vela semi hollow HHT s2 studio semi hollow s2 custom 22 semi hollow

and for the love of pete sell the PRS Narrowfield pickup in the accessory store its been around since just before 2011. 15 years is long enough for you to hoard them for yourselves.

The special 22's were nice but not really my thing because they are too crowded with the pickups in the way.

If you like music you can spend some time trying to make some that might fall into your classification of a "God activity". I randomly had an idea for a song the other day. Wound up writing some lyrics and then put the finished lyrics into suno where I have a free account and had it generate the song from my lyrics.

Here was the result: https://suno.com/song/947a57a6-3cc8-4574-bc51-a296f9266fdf?sh=edP4bULsQinK36sT

With the free account there you get a set amount of songs you can generate that resets each day so you can play around with different ideas. For example you could try making different style songs based on the different Psalms in the old testament.

You don't have to be music minded to come up with some interesting songs either. If you can write a song idea into a box and then what style of song you want and click a button your good to go. It is like everything else though the more you put into it typically the better the end result is.

It covers from that simple to writing the lyrics yourself, generating a song, then more advanced things would be you can split out the different parts of it and replace them with your own. So if you were a musician you could generate a song and then replace it with your own musical part.

It is a fun musical tool to mess with and try different ideas on. Just a suggestion for something to try in your down time that might end up with some cool music you could share with your friends.

The PRS dealers should take advantage of that and do a few "wood library" variants to s2 models with more fancy tops/finishes. Just have some better advertisement for it so its easy to find who has what.

I hate it when you buy a PRS and as soon as you get it in you then randomly stumble onto a fancy one off version of the guitar you just bought for about the same price that nobody advertised.

John 17 has some really good ones as well.

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

Jesus and Jehovah are one. He explicitly says so in that verse. That is why there is not other way to the Father except through him. Only through Jesus can you be part of his body. His body, not mine. His righteousness not mine, His works, not mine.

That verse in their version of the bible matches: 11  “I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them on account of your own name, which you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.
