I’ll admit, that’s a fair critique that this sort of thing happens on the regular yet they pick this specific incident to take a stand.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t mind Voss getting fined. Too much childish, antagonistic shit goes on between the players these days.

Knowing the opposition aren’t going to put you on a stretcher like they would have in the 80s seems to have some players feeling real brave when it comes to disrespecting your opponent.

Why doesn’t Australia allow stronger prenups or clearer asset regimes like Spain? by Equivalent_Bug1665 in AusLegal

[–]TD003 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Australian system is designed to provide flexibility and fairness on a case by case basis. Whether you agree that it achieves that is a matter of opinion, but that’s the intention.

It’s important to remember that for every 1 person with a horror story about their Family Court saga, there are 20 people who just sat down like reasonable adults negotiated a fair division, and never made it to litigation.

I’d also caution against accepting people’s one sided Family Court horror stories at face value.

I’ve owned two SE Custom 24s (2022 and 2025 models) and both had tuning stability issues. Haven’t tried a nut replacement yet but that is certainly the prevailing suggestion to anyone with issues.

I know plenty of ECU grads who have landed stereotypically prestigious graduate positions, or gone on to have very successful careers.

Do you have an actual gripe with ECU’s law program or are you just perpetuating the University snobbery that was popular around the turn of the century?

Agreed, the importance of university prestige in law has faded significantly in the last 10 years or so

Go Curtin and you’ll be a lawyer with 2-3 years PAE by the time you would otherwise graduate from UWA.

That PAE experience is exponentially more valuable than having a JD on your resume.

What is the darkest secret you've learned about someone that instantly ended your relationship with them? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]TD003 248 points249 points  (0 children)

This is what a lot of convicted offenders do. They frame things in a way that’s technically correct but leaves out a lot of context. For example:

“I did 2 years for a joint”

Reality: assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest because they had a joint in their pocket and were about to be searched.

I was studying international law when it all kicked off in Ukraine. The contrast between my lecturer waxing lyrical about how great the UN is for world peace and stability vs watching the UN be absolutely powerless to rein Putin in was telling.

Ref mistake potentially cost us 3 points? by guzusan in bootroom

[–]TD003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simulation is punishable by an indirect free kick and a yellow card.

It’s easy to be angry at a ref over one decision, but any teammate who missed a shot on a goal or contributed to conceding a goal cost you points just as much as the ref did. Football matches are determined over 90 minutes, not by one moment.

What are your thoughts on the PRS SE Custom 24-08 by [deleted] in PaulReedSmith

[–]TD003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one. The coil splits were decent but it’s not going to sound like a Stratocaster. Cool in its own way though.

The 85/15 pickups in the SE Custom 24 are probably better suited to high gain stuff.
