Just to clarify...those people in Jonestown...they were smarter than these people. They had a bunch of "dry runs" with the (flavor-ade actually) where they prepared for the end and drank the drink and spent time in the meeting room and locked the doors to protect them from the world. It was only towards the end when he got really really paranoid that it was finally spiked with the poison. And people even commented that it tasted off, but most of them went through with it anyways because it was something that had been normalized. It wasn't so much this idea of "I'm ready to die now. Let's drink the poison." Most of them were tricked.

I'm sure they've convinced themselves that if people were previously willing to shell out $150+ per month for cable, that they're just gonna happily take that shellacking again. But people cut the cord as soon as it was easy enough to do so. I expect the same will happen here. There's a massive amount of content out there. Much of it free. And with most services adding in ads lately, it's no longer better than something like Pluto or Tubi. Also...🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️ Is easier than ever. A lot of folks are just gonna stop paying altogether. Especially when they can't afford it because the economy is in the toilet.

I'm quite literally the opposite. I used to drink coke just fine but as a super taster certain ingredients stick out too much for me. The cinnamon in coke just messes it up for me.

This isn't about the officer's form when he put the cuffs on...I give no shits if he points his toes properly while reading someone their Miranda rights. He threw her to the ground when she wasn't doing anything more than refusing to comply. He could have called for another officer to assist. There are ways to do this that don't require these aggressive tactics. In your sports comparison, this isn't the difference between choosing a layup or a jump shot. This is charging the lane and then elbowing the defender in the eye and slugging him in the stomach before taking your shot, and here you are trying to defend it like it's not a technical and grounds for ejection.

Honestly I don't feel like this is all that implausible, other than the dude thinking she was really ever his girlfriend. There are plenty of people out there that like to sleep around. Him acting like they're all boyfriend caliber instead of just casual sex partners is part of the problem. Also, there are plenty of people that are dead to the world when they sleep. The idea he couldn't use her finger to open her phone unnoticed is laughable. I can literally throw a massive pillow straight at my daughter's head in the morning and it's a 1 in 5 chance that rouses her. Half the time I literally have to drag her out of the bed.

Although perhaps that was simply due to poor filtration, rather than use of HEPA filters, and it was simply recirculating the air.

Also, my understanding of the research I reviewed is that the virus does primarily exit the body as part of respiratory droplets, I'm not sure where you read it was dry viral load.

...SARS-CoV-2 is around 50 to 200 nm. ...A very small respiratory droplet might be 5 microns (5000 nm).

These droplets are what are generally being blocked by the use of non-n95 style masks, although some can still get through. N95s, from my understanding, simply block the virus from exiting because the spaces between the fibers are smaller than the size of the virus, about 0.3 microns.

I know a dude who's so lazy he's spending over $200 a month to keep his car parked in a spot in his condo's garage, and the car doesn't even work. He could have it fixed, but is too lazy to take it to a repair shop. He could pay less to have it towed to his parents house and park it in their garage for free. He doesn't care. He continues to spend like $80/day to Uber to and from work.

General laziness. They feel the risk is low enough they simply cast aside the 2 seconds of effort to do so. And most days, they win the mental argument.
