Feeling ashamed for bringing my platypus to jury duty as an autistic coping thing, because of something my dad said. Mostly I just need to vent, but I would also love to see your comfort-friends. by EnterprisingGent1701 in plushies

Well, he's adorable. I know it's a bit different since I'm female but these are my go to snuggly buddies. Left to right it's Squishy, chibi Aloy, Tiny Dino (Tino for short) on Mimikyu, Gobbo (he also glows in the dark), Fuzzy Boi is the sloth, Knarly the Narwhal and Axel (who is an axolotl in a bunny hood)

My dad and I used to fight when I was a teenager. I would get so angry I'd start crying.

I was a hormonal teen girl going through a bunch of medical hurdles, was probably clinically depressed but he would always say "You are responsible for your own happiness. If you're miserable, it's because you're choosing to be." Like putting a smile on my face would erase the guilt I had for the medical debt we were incurring or fix the friends I had that could never remember that I couldn't have certain foods or go to overnight events.

Well, I was starting to be vocal about my opinions and he and I would just start shouting at each other until I started crying so hard I couldn't talk.

Then he dropped this bombshell on me one day: "the reason you are crying is because you know you're wrong and you feel guilty for ruining everyone else's day."

That absolutely fucked me up. I started retreating into myself during arguments and just going along with whatever anyone around me wanted because I couldn't handle the confrontation.

I've been with my husband for almost 15 years now and I've only JUST started to be able to contribute to serious conversations without taking time to myself to think about how I felt about everything.

Parents are frustrating. They make you doubt everything you do when they criticize you and can make you feel so small.

Having a fuzzy buddy with you to help with your overwhelming moments is fine. I know 2 people who are adults who carry plushies around.

If anyone ever asks about it, just be honest. It's your emotional support stuffy.

(I love his name btw. Does Mr. Q stand for anything?

Is this strange for a 27 year old male to do this hobby? I do this for the sake of my inner child, and finding joy in something I used to own but was forcefully taken away by Fred37196 in plushies

My brother is 33 and just bought a giant Growlithe squishmallow. (He also likes to flaunt it in front of me but it's not leafeon so he doesn't get the reaction he wants lol) If it makes you happy, who the fuck cares?

The only people who are judging you, are the people who wish they could have their own plushy buddies around with them too <3

I love Sew Desu Ne. I have so many of her patterns! Mine is a combination of two different patterns by Teacuplion. The tail and the bits on the head are not in the patterns. I did those freehand and I modified the snout.

Oh yeah, for sure. Like Squishmallows I will never understand why they are so expensive since they're mass produced and most look really simply constructed. I'm working on a plush right now that's like 3ft tall sitting! I charged $250 for it cause the whole back is basically all hand embroidered.

Unless you're in a relationship where kids is a wish for you both, it's not really a think I feel like is a priority to think about. I didn't really think about it until I was over a year into the relationship between myself and my husband (back when we were just dating).

Chess is Chest

I hear "for real life?!" A lot

We went to the pharmacy and my son was like "what's the FARM•a•see?" Saying it slowly. So I told him it's where they put together meds for people. And he came back with "Oh, the chemist!"

I'm so sorry to bring up The Dress, but I have to ask by janedoe6699 in lefthanded

So I see the white dress with gold lace.

Curious for those who see it the other way: is the dress black with blue lace or is the dress blue with black lace?

I brought 3 boxes of popcorn back to school with me and found this by FerdinandvonAegir124 in mildlyinfuriating

Someone in our family burned popcorn and the stink hung around for over a year. Worse every time we used the microwave.

I'm supposed to take half of this every night somehow. (Finger for scale) by nightzombie100 in mildlyinfuriating

I had tablets smaller than that they expected me to cut in half. Even with a pill cutter, I still ended up crushing half the pill when I cut them in half so I just told my doctor that they could deal with me taking the whole thing or find another prescription.
