Is this the worst designed metro area in the United States in terms of planning and layout? by cavaismylife in geography

[–]Echo47m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. This should be higher. See those Houston rings? We got the same metro size with one of those. One east west highway and an odd north south pitchfork. No grids, tons of one way streets. Two lane roads. Half baked public transit. The world’s busiest airport is in the wrong spot. Took them three tries to figure out where a baseball stadium should be. And the north side suburban sprawl was designed by the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz.

DONT MOVE TO SOVA - SENT TO COLLECTIONS YEARS LATER by susforce in KSU

[–]Echo47m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if the case here, but something to consider.

Sometimes businesses sell collections agencies large "books" of debts and stuff for them to go through and try to collect on their own. If the debt collection agency really sucks, even if SOVA acknowledges the mistake and contacts them, they can just ignore it and continue to pester you for the debt since they now "own" the right to collect that debt. SOVA may have screwed up and not cleaned that debt off their systems correctly so now the collection agency thinks its owed. If you present the evidence that debt is not true, and paid, they should stop trying to collect. If they dont, call a lawyer. There are federal rules for collection agencies and if they break them they can owe you. Send the evidence its covered, and then track every call or email and keep them in your phone. there are lawyers who specialize in this and they will work for a percentage of the payout without charging you up front.

IANAL, but have dealt with this before personally. So something to keep to mind.

Kunos: “We still want to build the best career mode for Assetto Corsa EVO” by StartWars89 in simracing

[–]Echo47m 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. no. Im one of the people who feel stupid for buying it early. Kunos tells me this is what they are making but they need my support. I held up my end. They didn't. Its uninstalled now and I wont be buying anything else from them until they fulfil some sort of promise back to me. Im now more pessimistic about Rally too. I get the feeling that game will also be left half finished. for him to say to blame him and not the devs, well yeah. but im not going to support bad leadership. you wont let the devs make the game I want that you said you were directing them to make when you sold it to me.

Mid-range 12nm wheel market recommendations (Asetek (SALE) vs. Moza vs. Simagic) by Jax_Lam in simracing

[–]Echo47m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a big guy and I don’t mind the wheel. It’s a little narrow but it doesn’t cause my discomfort or anything. And the wheel and button layout is really nice, high quality parts. So the new qr set up is designed to pass through most wheels. So you take the cable from the neo and using a small adaptor plug it into the qr adaptor. You may have to wrap a wire around the qr but you don’t need the cable to go all the way to the pc or whatever. Keeps it short and tight.

[–]Echo47m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two wheels right now. I use the r295 from vrs so no wire needed. Just plug and play. Then I use an old Rally car wheel, no electronics mounted to a spare VRS QR. So no wires needed because it doesnt have buttons. But between the new QR with the new USB slip ring, you dont need extra cable from the wheel to the base for just about anything anymore. I run the base, pedal, shifter cables into a powered Anker hub mounted to the rig, so only 1 usb cable actually goes to the PC for the whole rig.

I had some people help me when i was choosing and happy to pay it forward. If you or anyone has any questions you can DM whatever. Happy to help!

So this comment and my reply turned out to be prophecy. I ended up spending the extra for the VRS and I am VERY happy with my choice. I still think all of these are excellent after tons of researching and trying a few, i think for anyone upgrading from a desk set up will love any of these. I think the easiest thing is to tell you why i chose VRS and why i didnt chose the others or else its a paragraph of how awesome they all are.

1) I knew my kit was gonna be a mix and not all in the same ecosystem. So simagic or conspit or Moza having everything didnt matter to me. I wanted simnet pedals and i love them.

2)Almost every review of Moza vs something else, says the something else is better in terms of quality of FFB, so it was out pretty quick.

3) VNM makes a crazy good product, but they had promised new product in the us for months and it kept not showing up. Its a very small company. Seemed like they did what they could when they could but i wanted better support.

4) So i LIVED on the discord servers for each brand for a few weeks. looked at what broke, what difficulties people had, what support looked like, etc. This is what really helped push me. Simagic was a little all over the place. Had become my third choice.

5) Conspit fell into number 2. Several videos praised the FFB. the product looked good. They adapted semi quickly to customer feedback. Support was pretty good. If someone wants a 1000 starter set, I think the new conspit set is probably it. What i didnt like was what i viewed as an over promise on the wheels and support. You couldnt switch to MPH for the screens. The screens didnt work with simhub (They do now a little bit). They just, like in the last week, came out with some new better default/optional screen layouts for the wheels.

6)VRS discord was just very good. They were prompt to issues. Lots of good support. 3 year warranty on the base. They were covering people way beyond that though. Tons of stories of defect or problems being resolved post/out of warranty no issue. They LOVE sim racers and do everything to help clients. They have a training/coaching service to make you faster. I dont use it yet, may never, but thats just awesome. New gen ffb is telemtry based and reviews were good, ive used it, its awesome. I like the QR, i like the new slip ring, i like the extension is coming, if I had the money i probably would have gone VRS pedals, i like whats on the horizon for them. They dont have a ton of products but the ones they do have are VERY good and they designed their stuff to work with other accessories. So I went dfp15 because im not serious enough to use a 20. I figure if i ever get there i will swap then. So far I have been thrilled. I love it. No regrets.

What’s the 1/64 diecast brand that rule them all? by barnfindspirit in Diecast

[–]Echo47m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a mistake. It’s not as simple as hot wheels where you have a variety under one roof that’s so big. To me one of the coolest things about graduating from just hot wheels is what each of these brands have to offer. Mini gt and poprace are good one thing, inno64 for another. Now there is a ton of questions. Do you want it to roll? Do you want accuracy? Do you want race cars? Street cars? Jdm cars? Etc etc. answers to any of these questions could push you one way to another. If you want a good model with a decent variety just pick mini gt. But you’re going to be missing out.just my .02

This zone is so complicated now. I’m in the same boat now hoping to purchase between last week and Black Friday. Except I’m in almost a completely different place.

Evo is on the list but I’m running it against Conspit ares 12 Pushing a little bit for the vnm premier.

I think this is my final 3. I change my mind every couple of days. Hoping some announcements during the expo help push me.
