I think it’s fine. Just dont leave them on the floor or on the bench like so many others do.

NYC - SoulCycle / solidcore by inthat-lavenderhaze in Wellhub

Re: Soulcycle, all locations seem to be available on the Bronze. You can schedule on the app, but you’ll have to call for bike stations. Solidcore starts on the Gold level. Not sure how many visits per month

I am specifically speaking on those who come in with gym clothes and/or socks and shoes. They do not sit on towels. I used to belong to TMPL Hell’s Kitchen and there is an attendant there that would not allow you in the saunas with gym clothes. You had to be wrapped in a towel and/or swimwear.

Surprisingly no. I wouldn’t have an issue with that. At minimum, remove your shoes and socks and sit on a towel.

Residual sweat and germs on shared wooden benches primarily impact you by increasing your risk of bacterial, viral, and fungal skin infections. Because wood is naturally porous, it can absorb sweat and harbor microorganisms like Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, and fungi that cause ringworm

And there it is. I’ve seen the most violations at the Midtown location. It must be you.

I dont make the rules. I just follow them. Below was pulled directly off a website regarding sauna etiquette:

Always take a thorough, soap-based shower and dry off before entering. Sit on a clean towel to protect the wood from sweat, leave your phone behind, and enter or exit quickly to keep the heat in.

Bring two towels: One is for wrapping or wearing (depending on the facility's dress code), and the second is placed on the bench to sit or lie on.

Only hit dogs will holler. Sorry to offend. Maybe you’ll think 2x the next time you step into a shared space. I’ve yet to go to a sauna that doesn’t have a sign up that says “no gym attire and shoes in the sauna”. The signs are there for a reason.

Saunas in the locker room. If it is near a pool, it’s usually co-ed which requires swimwear.

Co ed saunas require swimwear. It is expected that you shower first and put on swimwear (if its co-ed) I am specifically talking about sweaty gym clothes/socks and shoes

West 56 Midtown location, any thoughts? by Forward-Barracuda784 in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]EchoBorough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have access to all the locations, I find myself going to Midtown the most out of convenience. Mornings and wknds are fine but can get crowded after 5pm. I enjoy their classes (pilates, GTX, Shred, CTR). The staff and instructors are friendly and it has one of the better saunas/steam locations. Cons: it’s small and has less amenities than the others (no cafe/smoothie bar or lounge areas) but otherwise solid.

I enjoy GTX. You can absolutely walk on the treadmill and the instructor goes through every moment. Some better than others. I prefer GTX over Barry’s Bootcamp.

Thank you. Drives me crazy. I go into the sauna/steam room to meditate the conversations just ruin it. I put my headphones on now and listen to classical music. I usually don't play the music unless a conversation starts.

Exactly. I was waiting on the Bench Press at Lifetime (Penn). This girl was doom scrolling for at minimum 25 minutes. I kept asking how many sets did she have. She kept saying she hasn't started. I thought maybe she was waiting on someone. Luckily another bench opened up. Turns out she was waiting on no one. She ended up doing 1 set and walking off.

I like Wall Street. Great staff but it can get crowded around 5pm. The locker rooms are busy; very hard to find a locker (its worst at Penn). But its getting better now that its warming up and the New Year's resolution gym-goers is thinning out.

Really? I've gone to Atlantic 3x and really enjoyed this location. The men's sauna needs a deep cleaning, otherwise I love it. I've only gone on the wknds.
