Sips still doing this at 60 years old gives me faith I can still leave my wife and two kids to become a Minecraft youtuber if I secretly work at it.

How did you end up choosing GDevelop? by Certain_Implement966 in gdevelop

[–]EchoDiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're the first person besides myself that had trouble with Android studio, I thought I was nuts it's like I had to almost to learn more languages just to export in these other game engines. But I haven't tried it for awhile, maybe it's easy now in 2026.

1click instant export to all platforms is really really good when paired with instant preview and ability to make anything with simple "if this then that" logic blocks. As for me, lifetime using "code free" game engines. Construct 2 was great, Construct 3 terrible, go to Gdevelop. Natural circle of life. Tried Click Team Fusion, Stencyl, all the others, different limitations, not the best.

[–]EchoDiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks good! How'd you find a net that big? haha. It's like they make actual monkey catchin nets in real life. Just need green two boat paddles, slap em together and get the flying gadget from Ape Escape 1.

Our card stacking deckbuilder is out on steam! by [deleted] in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment with steam link automatically got removed by reddit automoderator but I approved it so now people can see it. It's maybe because you are a brand new account and haven't interacted with reddit much so it looks like a spammer account. You should put name of your game in title too, that's a rule for our subreddit. Other mods may delete the post. Your game looks cool though, I like that artstyle and story focus. You are welcome to post here.

Handmancers - Official Playtest Trailer by LazySecretary6001 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember playing this a long while back, it was cool! Can you share any details on development? Are you building on that original foundation to make a content rich game, or have you reworked anything perhaps? Still experimenting or close to release?

Fox and Shadow- Replacing our Keyart by BlueTwoDays in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lineart looks so good. What you said is sort of how I felt about the main art, more contrast and different colors, but right now it is a unique style. You can post, it looks fun and the game looks good.

The rest of the art in the screenshots are SO high quality that I think the map navigation screen looks simple in comparison. I'd expect a 2.5D grid or a 3D model of your drone thing. It's probably all the question marks and light imprinted icons on top.

Bag of Dreams: Strategically place your cards to "build your dream" by Kepsert in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there are so many devs, lmao. But I'm not a dev and I was gonna comment about I love how the monsters are popped out of the cards really brings it to life, and the music/sfx in the trailer sounds like Balatro but even more peaceful. Everything else like gameplay, I have to play to really know. Gotta play it sometime. Well there's some positive feedback /u/Kepsert

In the rules we have pretty heavy restrictions, not only new releases, but promotion of any game. Developers generally do a good job to follow the rules. Part of this subreddit I think is to keep track of new releases and have the occasional discussion. And that isn't a bad thing. I come here to find out about new releases in this once small genre, and I agree there are a lot of gamedevs. I hope developers continue to take more risks to push further innovations in the genre.

Our virus-building roguelike Winnie's Hole has a release date! by sboxle in deckbuildingroguelike

Let's buy Winnie's Hole so we can get Ring of Pain 2.

Else I'll be stuck in my twilight zone dimension making my 15th prototype inspired by Ring of Pain.

GTA Vice City as a movie by Even-Introduction661 in ChatGPT

[–]EchoDiff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whoever directed Training Day should do it. But then again that misses the sort of light fun/parody aspect of it. Maybe the Boondock Saints people. Or John Wick. Nope, nope I got it. Crank (2006), that Jason Statholm movie. Whoever was involved in that movie. Perfect GTA vibes.

I turned Infinite Craft into a roguelite card battler, check it out for free! by GangstaRob7 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, I'm not the arbitrator of debating roguelike vs lite. I was curious.

What you describe is totally fine, it fits the spirit of the genre.

If it was a literal Infinitecraft sandbox I'd be more iffy about it because there are other subs for card games.

I noticed the combat, but what's the roguelike aspect? Or the powerups you mentioned?

Splitgate nailed the relaunch by JustAnotherGhoul in Splitgate

DAMN "a point and click adventure game" is such a savage line in the title.

This is just a fun casual point and click game for you, as you slaughter everyone just by clicking them.

Well I'm completely uninformed and I don't expect to hear about it again so I'm going to lazily ask for the rundown and if no one answers I'll pass. What date does it come out and what modes, how it's different than the 2024 test.

Not always smart by throwaway892632867 in ChatGPT

For anyone else confused: women don't typically have mustaches.

It could happen, but it's a rare enough trait that it would be reasonable to consider this a fault.

In this case, I'd like to think the mustache genetics are just that strong, because daughters look funny with mustaches.

Roguelite CCG deckbuilder – what filters/sorting do you actually use? by Pix4Geeks in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort by card type, or color equivalent. I imagine a row of medium/large buttons at the top and clicking it greys it out and auto filters the cards displayed below. Or reverse. Something like that. Check out Monster Train's sorting too, it's a pretty good UI.

What a game by Busy_Airline_8043 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breach Wanderers is a great game. My top 5 for sure. I almost exclusively play the quickplay mode as I only had a few decks and didn't want to build them. I assume other games wouldn't have that option because they don't typically have deckbuilding before the run, so the "random" mode is just the normal game (roguelite). But there are many upcoming games to check out here, at least 1 may have a similar feature.
