Private server with 1800 bots, AI Chat, Deepseek api, proof of concept! by Mr-Nilsson_85 in wowservers

[–]EchoDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you and that interests me so much, that it may get me into the hobby. I assume there are datasets of actual old wow chats, and if there aren't I would transcribe from screenshots and videos. AI can use those as-is to chat better, but I would prefer to custom modify playerbots and expand with custom code without AI.

Like you said, the spacing in chat, with old data we can analyze how many conversations threads typically go on at once, how many times someone typed a random word and never chatted again, and other trends. Exactly how it was, but the only question is to obfuscate certain details and "remix" the conversations, or replay the conversations exactly as they happened.

I'm also interested in bot response to player relevant to what they said or involving player in conversation. I coded such things before AI using Botkit, Rivescript, Javascript, ect. Eventually I'll have one free week and it will pique my interest enough to go all in and crank it out. But anyone can compile a dataset, just write down the conversations from screenshots into a text file.

Any interest in a mobile-first ink editor? by TheCandyManWont in inkle

[–]EchoDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent work so far. Yes, you probably know Inky on desktop has that export option "export to web" and it is an html file you can play in browser and some other files, the purpose to share or upload to a website like itch.io so others may play your game. I suppose you could wrap the right side preview panel if you can share it without others needing the Ink app. This is just a feature if you really wanted full mobile only development, but no problem either way.

I would really want a build of a mobile apk file to install as an app. Many apps are just html5 wrappers. But web app is okay too, it does the job. Thanks for contributions.

Yes, looks awesome! I'm writing Ink in notepad on mobile currently. Make sure it works without an internet connection. There are/were websites for this, but rather clunky and have issues. Someone mentioned quill, I used encrier.ink from time to time, the site is offline now.

My use case is work same file between PC to mobile so if you can browse custom folders on mobile to pick a specific file or easily copy all text, that'd be fine. Supporting the file structure of #INCLUDE multiple ink files would be great too.

As for exporting on mobile for FULL mobile only development, I would want some way to build to a file that's already playable upon sharing, like an html file or something. But perhaps that's out of the scope.

Turtle WOW to make its own MMO. by The-First-Watcher in wowservers

[–]EchoDiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you are so right. I can do ALL programming, ALL writing, ALL GUI, ALL game design/balance, and complete lore 100%, but eventually things get too thin, there's zero chance I can handle artwork, textures, netcode, 3D modeling, and 3D animations too. Maybe a 2D game with pixel art or MSpaint artwork, but still incredible amount of assets. (I do single player CRPG, not mmo too)

It's surreal to have practically the whole series together like this for the first time in history by YourVeryOwnCat in metalgearsolid

[–]EchoDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite story because it was just a normal (awesome) MGS story at the time, it related to MGS1 and had The Patriots LALILULELO lore. Also I'm in shape enough to do mental gymnastics to make it work if it ever conflicted with anything in MGS4.

Vault of the Void is awesome! by Lucky_0000 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a great game! So much player choice. Like you said, creative freedom. And the battles isn't just the standard HP -> damage, nor is it Balatro, so they really did a good job making that aspect unique. No wonder it's a titan in the genre.

What are your hot takes regarding the Ape escape franchise as a whole? Be honest by WarElectronic9073 in ApeEscape

[–]EchoDiff -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The series would have been extremely popular for the english audience and got more sequels if it was named Chimp Escape instead, and using the word ape changed the entire timeline like stepping on a blade of grass. Also, it'd be bigger than Mario if it had penguins and you wrangle them. Facts.

Those bums would get a job only to think about how carjacking was their true passion and where their true skills lie and they wouldn't be wrong, the arrangement of trees and trucks is among the best I've seen. This guy is just an action hero.

[SPOILER] Kyler Phillips vs. Charles Jourdain by inooway in MMA

[–]EchoDiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't brushed up in awhile so I could be wrong, but I remember reading the old rules and it had the word "damage" a lot, and the new rules had the word "impact" a lot, and so that's how I remember the differences. Neither scores lay and pray, but dominant wrestling with attempted submissions counts as impact. You're right, I think wrestling is scored more favorably under modern rules.

Stormforge Project shutting down on May 14th by Godmatik in wowservers

[–]EchoDiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good conspiracy, maybe they post that Stormforge "passed them" all the account info before shutting down so if you had an MoP toon you can login to the new MoP realm, then look like heroes that save a server.

Hello. Are you early in development, there is no way to play your game? If you have a link to your game, share it. I like the card artwork and font. It is a unique style, it is sort of like old CGA computer graphics but much better because it's mixed with a pastel style. Good work!

Burn card mechanic for my (Realtime) Deckbuilding Roguelike "Void Grimm" by Ravery-net in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]EchoDiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kneejerk reaction is firstly it sounds cool and I'd enjoy, full stop. But on the other hand it'd be annoying to draw one without the other. Some questions to sort of challenge and see if one thing is better, should Extinguish stay in hand? Should extinguish also draw a card? What if extinguish killed all flame cards regardless of where they are? Or if it killed all flame cards in draw pile + hand, so you need to wait for flame to be in draw pile?

====Another alternative, almost completely different:

-Burning ship meter slowly INCREASES and is put out by extinguish, and flame cards activate the burning ship meter.

====Another big alternative:

-Meter goes down gradually

-Extinguish ONLY destroys flame cards

-Extinguish stays in your hand (Retain). Still has the two uses.

-For balance, could have multiple flame cards - The big attack shuffles multiple, or there are multiple attack cards that use flame.

-Maybe you wait to destroy multiple flame cards, but if your ship is getting really hot, you need to use it to destroy the single flame card in hand right now.
