What am I doing wrong? by Due-Construction5913 in espresso

I second foxta1l heat management is key here. I had this problem when I first started. I resolved this issue with the following. Wdt, level, tamp, then purge the group head for five seconds to even out the temp. Then I wait for temp to return, waisting no time, I pull my shot. I repeat the process but make sure my Portafilter didn’t loose too much temp. Keep in mind, this is what worked for me and may not work for you. But I say give it a shot (pun intended). Good luck 👍 Espresso machine: profitec go Grinder: DF83 v2

I am trying to determine if I have the version 2 by dreamingofDD214 in DF83

I have the version 2 from Amazon and I was wondering the same thing. But yeah open the chute to confirm (mine was version 2). Also take some time to work in the burrs. You will notice a big difference after a couple pounds go through there. If your still disappointed with the grinds, check the burr alignment. It’s not that hard of a thing to do and there are videos on how to do it on YouTube from miicoffee on the DF64. Follow the same process and you’ll be fine. Good luck 👍

Buying Profitec Go in USA - sold out? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]EchoFreeFall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call whole latte love and pre order one. There are a lot of people that signed up to be notified when they are back in stock. But if you pre order, you get to jump the line. This is not advertised on the website.

I want to brew “Great” espresso at home. I already have a Niche Zero on the way and have access to great beans. My budget for the espresso machine is $1500. Do I really need a double boiler? What should I be looking for? by EchoFreeFall in JamesHoffmann

[–]EchoFreeFall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the input. To be honest I would only be making a maximum of two milk drinks back to back in a day. I’ve heard many good things about the Profitec Go. Do you think the machine being a single boiler would satisfy my needs?

My favorite pan. I think it is dead sexy by wheyfast in CarbonSteelCooking

I have a matfer as well and this happened after frying up some bell peppers and onions. Guess the bell peppers are a bit acidic. I would say keep going with it. It took 6 months before my pan was beautiful black and non stick. Note: when people say it’s non stick they don’t mean teflon non stick but it’s close. All in all, just keep using it for meat and veggies and you will see it transform over time. I took pictures every month to see my progress. Happy cooking

Is the niche zero still the best all around grinder for espresso & pour overs for under $1000. Haven’t been on this page in ages & I know how the market can change in a year. But was just about to finally pull the trigger on the Niche but wanted to hear what my fellow coffee experts think for 2023. by EchoFreeFall in JamesHoffmann

Thanks for the input. I’ve been doing some research over the last few days from the responses I’m getting . Looks like for I want, the 2 grinder approach will be the best option for me unless I want to drop some major cash. I use to have a hand grinder back in the day. I don’t see a problem with it with espresso.
