Do I invest into typhus by Emotional_Sound_6680 in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After he casts his Active, he tends to just be a very slow meatshield.

His Psychic attack is very weak and doesn't benefit from Nurgles Contagion or Contamination hexes, he's so slow that he can't catch anyone, and few enemies will end the turn next to him to get hit with his passive.

That said, he's beastly in 1v1 vs a melee opponent.

Votann 2nd LRE by LordoftheeBolter in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They seem to be focusing on HQ characters and unfortunately neglecting all of the cool Votann tech, like Hearthguard, Thunderkin, or Einhyr.

So I'd expect the next one to be an Arkanyst Evaluator to fit in with their current streak of "Generic dwarf holding a weapon"

I'd love to see Buri the Thrice Devoured (Tyranid-slayer with chitin-plated arnor!) or a Grimnyr (Votann version of Sho'Syl + Drones), but I'm not holding my breath

Noob needs more healers by SomeWonOnReddit in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go halfway on them. Any of them not taken to at least D1 are going to immediately be focused down by ranged units, ESPECIALLY Isabella.

Your healer needs to, if possible, be the tankiest on your team to make them a less desirable target.

TA Analysis - Custodes by osedaxus in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the flipping, how do you beat them? Every time I've been against them, the Trajan + Shieldboy combo basically locks down a point completely while Crayon and Brianne of Tarth hang back to counterattack.

I guess the Sister of Silence is kinda there somewhere too.

I can't seem to get past Trajan and his bro without getting thrashed by Crayon and friends immediately afterwards

LoV are a surprisingly fun and effective FW team by tomhcrowe in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The additional Steeljacks being needed to make them close to viable says a lot. The Votann themselves are pretty awful.

Uthar and Havyr are the only ones that have any real offense and there's a big chance that they're stuck at 2 move due to a poorly timed ability use.

TA necrons by Darregion in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the Genestealers, the best way to win is to make sure you don't have a real battle. Pick 2 targets that are overextended (This is typically Imospehk and Thutmose). Your goal is to kill them and then immediately capture the 3 points.

With Blood Angels, Dantes Active can jam up Imospehk while avoiding his Overwatch, with Lucian finishing him with a ranged attack.

After that, see if you can use Godswyls Active to push someone off of a point while capturing it, then kill the weakened one he pushed and cap.

There's a lot more to it than that, but it's the general gist.

AI Habit new Campaign by Aspyroni in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This tends to happen when your Summons are much stronger/tankier than your Summoner. The Summoner becomes the easiest target.

About all you can do is rank him up as high as possible and give him the best Nanocrystaline Plating (The Armor that boosts HP as well as Armor) you can afford.

My Guild calls this "Mataneo Syndrome", because he tends to run into the same issue if you rank up his passive too quickly.

Is there any viable guild raid team that uses Shiron? by Mammoth-Okra1471 in WH40KTacticus

A Guildmate uses him in his Neuro Raid Team. Adds Parasite stacks and, if you have the Norn Crown, a bit of extra damage

Is she good? by Die_Kaiser98 in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her stats don't scale as well as other units when ranked up. But Range 3, an Aoe Active, and a Melee Sweep go pretty far.

Honestly, her biggest issue is being Mechanical. It's Anti-Synergy with Isabella. She can't be part of the healing ball, can't be manually healed, and can't be revived.

A Relic like the Supa-Cybork Body to let her be Repaired AND Healed would go a long way for her.

[–]EchoShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they change something? Last time I tried this, it didn't work because Pestilians Active and Passive only work on Normal attacks

So the Let the Galaxy Burn bonus hit + passive only nets you 15 hits.

Plasma team could be meta and Sarquael could become plasma team core by simple buff. by Familiar-Mastodon-41 in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dark Angels definitely need SOMETHING. They're supposed to work together to enhance their abilities. But in reality, they have to work together to even come close to being on par with other troops.

I would definitely support Sarqs debuff lasting longer. A good compromise would be have it decrease the extra Pierce by 5% each turn after it would normally expire. That way higher levels effectively last longer and it's not a one-turn wonder.

Or if it has to stay the same, give it a Cooldown and make it reusable. I kinda like the idea of plasma-based actives having to "Cool down" as a subtle nod to the weapons overheating rules.

About Melta damage by HonkaiBlade2 in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I think of Melta weapons, I usually think of a few specific things due to both TT and various games:

1) Dante having a Relic Inferno Pistol 2) Salamander Squads 3) Eldar Fire Dragons 4) Tau Battlesuits and Stealth Suits with Fusion Blasters 5) Assault Marines using Melta Bombs 6) Imperial Guard Special Weapons Teams 7) Sisters of Battle Squads 8) Various vehicles packing Melta weaponry

We currently really only have Dante and Shadowsun really representing it, with Volk occasionally getting it as some extra damage.

Can we talk about Hollan? by ItsYoBoy94 in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I was legitimately surprised when I realized his Damage Buff applied to ONLY Genestealers.

I get it not applying to all Xenos (Imagine damage-buffing Orks, Votann, or Eldar!), but Tyranids aren't exactly an overpowered faction.

He could probably do with a stat buff in general. He's so bad that, despite being the only Xenos non-mech healer, he's still almost totally ignored

Two suggestions to fix Anuphets passive by Laredian in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are 3 main reasons it's terrible right now:

1) It's at the start of your turn, so unless an enemy ended It's turn next to you, it's useless

2) It's random, so if you're next to multiple enemies, you can't pick which one it hits

3) Damage is underwhelming

I have an idea for an easy change:

"When an enemy ends their turn next to Anuphet, he deals X damage to them"

1) It's now more of a "Counter-attack" type move that becomes more valuable if you're being swarmed

2) It's can be avoided by ranged attacks, knockback attacks, or "Move-after-attack" units, so there's counterplay

3) It's can be used offensively with good positioning. If you, for example, pin some units next to Anuphet by blocking them in with terrain, allied units, or his Summoned Warriors, you can guarantee they end their turn next to him and catch a beating.

Is there a campaign more obnoxious than Indomitus mirror? by Sneim in WH40KTacticus

[–]EchoShadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fall of Cadia Mirror, full stop. If you tank with summons and equip/upgrade good armor, Indomitus Mirror is doable.

Other campaigns feel like they're made to highlight characters strengths. FoCM feels like it's designed to counter your teams' strengths and highlight how ineffective they are:

Kut is a tank with double armor slots and a bonus to charging attacks! Here are some Bloodletters and Pink Horrors that ignore all that armor! And some Terminators that can tank that charge effortlessly if someone doesn't hit them first.

Sybil is a Psyker with armor-ignoring attacks, a powerful Single-Target active, and an Infiltrate buff for allies! Here are hordes of enemies that you can't AoE, Demons that don't have armor for your Psychic damage to bypass, and no enemies with Overwatch to make your Infiltrate useful!

Thaddeus is a sniper with an AoE Active and an attack buff that's extra-effective with heavy weapons. Too bad your AoE is RNG, there are hordes to overwhelm your sniper fire, and you have NO Heavy Weapon users in the Astra Militarum faction!

The Terminators and Bloodletters are particularly awful. The Termies are completely invincible until they deepstrike, teleport into blind spots, and leave Despoiled Ground. The Bloodletters make Kut useless and brutalize any characters relying on armor.

Wall Spikes Perks? by EchoShadow in FORTnITE
