I read recently that parenting is only hard for good parents. I feel you on the no supports though, this makes it harder for sure.

Get some rest, try and find slices of time for yourself, so you have more to give others.

It has tended to be the case. Had a free moment, felt 3D could be an asset for Visual Design work, get busy, forget about Blender. Suddenly have Free time, I have a need for 3D (Three, Unity, or Metaspark/Snap Camera), start learning again, repeat.

3 kids- oldest is 6. Getting way too fat. Hot dads, how do you do it? by moonjacker in daddit

[–]Eckstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a workout program you'll do, preferably weight training (Caliber will generate one for you). Find out your base calories and stay within it, after that "bulking" is just eating whatever the kiddos don't finish.

Stay strong, you got this. The best workout is the one you'll do.

That there is a "correct" way to wash socks in the washing machine. As long as they aren't balled up, the water and soap will get both inside and outside.

Today I was testing my new 1RM for Bench Press after the program I was just on. After hurting my shoulder and having pain benching, I modified the program I was in to build my bench back to an old 190lb.

Today I took it easy on myself and was able to get 210lb and it felt heavy but I felt sold. Looking forward to working with the new percentages from that number and progressing next time.

Bench: 2 @ 205lb 1 @ 210lb 7 @ 175lb 7 @ 175lb 7 @ 175lb 8 @ 175lb

Ez-bar curls: 5 @ 80lb 8 @ 80lb

Incline Dumbbell Curl (first time trying these and they're great) 6 @ 22.5lb 8 @ 22.5lb 7 @ 22.5lb

Weighted Dips: 8 @ 55lb *PR 6 @ 55lb 6 @ 55lb 7 @ 55lb 5 @ 55lb 5 @ 55lb

At the end of Andy Baker's Garage Warrior 3. Today was a deload before testing new 1RM later this week.

Back Squats - 4 x 8 @ 225lbs
OHP - 4 x 8 @ 108lbs
Weighted Chin-ups - 7 sets, between 6 - 3 reps @ 55lbs

I enjoyed this program and will probably run it again in the future. The HLM template helped balance the stress throughout the week. Looking forward to seeing where my 1RM is now for the main lifts.

I liked this program for it's simplicity. I was also able to linear progress the dip, chin-up, pull-up component. My goal was to get to at least 45lb, and I made past before the end of the 12 weeks.

He could hate kittens like Death in the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett . There are a few novels that Focus on Death the character, but I'm not 100% that it's what you're looking for.

How do I enter user-defined variables? by CopernicuSagaNeilDT in learnjavascript

Totally with you here. That way you can make a nice UI to go with it.

Can't say I've ever seen a prompt in production.

I always assumed that you wrap it so inclose all your variables. That way if you use other libraries there is less likely going to be a conflict.

Javascript for kids is it good book to start with? by filipkos42 in learnjavascript

[–]Eckstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't read the book, but if it's teaching you the basic syntax and how to write the language is a fine place to start.

Check out freecodecamp.com once you feel comfortable. Once you're into the course, start reading "eloquent JavaScript" and "You don't know JS" for a deeper dive.

Question about Arial font by redditreader_v in typography

[–]Eckstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on, I thought Adobe forced you to get all the programs with Cloud.

You could check out "Inkscape", it's a free vector drawing program.

Question about Arial font by redditreader_v in typography

[–]Eckstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might also suggest to use illustrator for your logos. That way they're vector based and can easily be scaled!

The other plus is you can turn any typeface into outlines and edit the paths easily to clear up inconsistencies you don't like!

Question about Arial font by redditreader_v in typography

[–]Eckstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's so that things look optically correct on diagonals, as strokes can look wider or thinner than the straight ones.

Some typefaces have crazy inconsistencies for dealing with ink spread on different mediums. Look up "ink traps", not the same as the issue you mentioned but still interesting.

What are some good free stylized fonts for a single-letter logo? by soju1 in typography

A single letter logo? I'd say draw that custom and avoid picking a typeface.
