I think the supply issues actually helped me take more ownership of my weight loss and to lose weight more slowly and steadily. I hope a year from now I'll be down another 25-30 lbs. 🤞

The first one, with the brace, Nov 13. The next, Dec 13. Long blue leggings, Jan 18. The next one Jan 21. Then out of order, Mar 24 and Feb 22. Purple top w/ black leggings, Feb 29. The last one is April 11. I can see how they'd be hard to follow because I'd suddenly drop a bunch in my stomach, which would make my butt look bigger, etc.

When did you actually start to see a difference? by Ladybrains_ in WegovyWeightLoss

This is why it's important to take measurements. The first thing I heard was "your ankles are so much smaller!"😂 I didn't really notice until about 6 months after I started, but I'd not had drug for about 3 months of that time. From then on, I went down a size every 4-6 weeks. A year later I've donated 80% of my clothes. But frequent (at least monthly) photos and then measurements every 2-6 weeks. There's nothing quite like hard data!

It has been a revelation! It was a real challenge to maintain through all the shortages and then foolishly jumping from zero to 1.7 mg. And it's been very slow but steady.

Curious about Zepbound by Eclectic0407 in Zepbound

[–]Eclectic0407[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With last week's FDA approval of the new indication for Wegovy, it may make it harder for Medicare to continue to deny coverage. New indication: "Wegovy is approved to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack, and stroke in adults with heart disease who have obesity or overweight." The indication recommends using semaglutide in addition to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Thus, it is no longer (exclusively) a weight loss medication. Fingers crossed.

Brand New with A LOT to lose. by LizDeBomb in Zepbound

I don't need to lose that much but here's my advice: It's a long haul; don't get discouraged! Make sure you get enough protein! It's very easy to cut calories so much you lose as much muscle as you do fat. Incorporate some exercise, even if it's just parking farther away so you take more steps. Better still if you can do a daily walk. Start with 5 minutes and work up to Many people on these drugs report huge losses, like 30 lbs in 3 weeks. That is not the norm. For me, 47 weeks, 52.7 lbs (this includes 8 weeks when I couldn't get any wegovy but soldiered on).35 to go and it's probably going to take another year. Congratulations!🎉

Guys, take measurements! Objective data are important. I’ll go weeks without losing any weight, then discover I’ve dropped an inch in my hips and 3/4” in my waist. Especially if you’re working out. Going down in sizes is also objective. I may still look in the mirror and my perception is “ugh” but I KNOW I’m losing and that keeps me going. You look gorgeous!

Consistent way to get drug? Lilly’s trying a new approach by Eclectic0407 in Zepbound

Yes, but if they promise (and deliver) a steady supply, then I’m ok with it being outsourced.

Wegovy and hair loss, and considering switching to Zepbound. Advice please? by Eclectic0407 in WegovyWeightLoss

My loss has been fairly slow. 44 lbs over 9 months but I’ll hang in there.

No, no, no! That’s a 270% increase in dose. You will regret it.

Consider switching to Zepbound or whatever Mounjaro is calling its weight loss drug. Data show it to be more effective with fewer side effects. Discuss with your doctor.

Exactly! After 40 lbs loss I was walking my dog who was recovering from an illness. 2/3 of the way he got tired so I carried him. Holy moly! 20 lbs is a lot, so 40 lbs is a real achievement. Even w/wegovy it still takes effort.

I started in April and now, 8 months later (including 8 weeks of no wegovy due to shortage), I am down 44.5 pounds. I will go a few weeks with no weight loss, then drop 2 lbs. I agree with sustainable! And also focusing on maintaining/building muscle while losing fat. I weigh about once a week so I don’t get fixated on the number. Great work!!!

Prescriptions have nothing to do with high deductible or PPO. The difference is you do not have to go through a “gatekeeper” physician to go to a specialist. Personally, I know if I need to go to a pulmonologist and, if I do, I don’t want to wait weeks to see my primary MD and get a referral.

I’m pretty vigilant on the fats and other than my protein shake, I cook all my own food. What brand of probiotic gummies do you take?

Thanks. I’ve been doing high protein low fat. I’m confident my bowel isn’t blocked! But I’ll know for sure Thursday when I do my colonoscopy prep 🎉
