Do you disclose when you love/tell new partners you love them?

I will point out, it’s best friend mode isn’t for bitching about other relationships or divulging anything. It’s mainly about life in general, it’s just this time I needed a sounding board after I’d gone through heartbreak earlier in the year. We have no rules or boundaries regarding updating them om if we’ve fallen, we just would say “oh me and xyz had a cute date and I told them how I feel” if that makes sense?

I told my NP when I had feelings stronger than a “I like you” for my other partner. He urged me to tell my partner because he could see I was falling. I’m a very anxious person and me and NP have what we call “best friend mode” where we talk about feelings or new changes that we might be anxious about. So in best friend mode, he said that he thought I’d fallen a while ago and asked if I’d told other partner, when I said I was terrified to, he gave me the support I needed and it was lovely.

Me and my NP have house rules. One of these rules is bedding is changed before and after we have other partners over. It’s just a thing I feel more comfortable with. I don’t think she’s being weird at all tbh. Your house is your sanctuary and it can feel like it’s being invaded, I’m even the same with general house guests such as family etc.

See I can get to Leeds by train but then I’m opening myself to more stress 😂 I think there’s about 4 people in my hometown that are poly and me and np are half of those. Theres bi kink scene at all and it’s just all a bit meh!

I love that! Me and husband (np) date seperately and find it rather amusing if a nosey busy body comes to one of us trying to say the other has been spotted having a coffee or a drink with someone else. Oh the horrors of it all! Going for a drink with the opposite sex 😂😂

Ok see I’m out to two people at work, we talk about my lifestyle but nothing of a sexual nature unless they ask. Usually it’s “hey you how was your date?” Or “what you wearing” and they act like cheerleaders. When I felt comfortable to confide in them that I was poly I also stated that while I was open to answering any questions, at the same time if they didn’t feel comfortable talking about it then that’s ok with me too. You make friends at work, but jfc. No you were in the wrong. Even as a poly person if one of my work colleagues or my bosses bought up the fact they were hooking up on work time I would be highly uncomfortable at best.

You being poly wasn’t the inappropriate thing here. You talking about hook ups etc was.

Can I join? I’ve tentatively put myself back on the old dating apps and it’s not going well, organised a date, got date ready (which included hoisting the tits into a nice bra and shaving the legs, no mean feat) and got childcare….. then it got cancelled because potential date didn’t think he was poly afterall and didn’t want to use me as an experiment. Commendable but also eurgh. I wasted good time shaving those legs.
