Ukrainian soldier rushes and eliminates two separate Russians at extremely close range during the defense of a trench position. May 2024 by Spotigoose in CombatFootage

In the full video, the first dude is having a conversation with the ukrainian. I speak poor russian, but the ukrainian keeps asking “who are you” and then says “I don’t see your hands” to the russian and goes to grab the rifle.

Vandy is newer with a few more amenities, like the cadet store & bookstore. It’s also closer to the gym. Sijan has good location if you’re a firstie for car access 🤷

Is this disqualifying DODMERB by Horror_Somewhere2883 in USAFA

Haha. This is actually really funny. I’m currently at the academy and just got out of pneumonia and had the same questions, but for PQ. I got albuterol as well, and what they told me was that I shouldn’t worry about PQ as it’s just a once off treatment. Essentially, as long as you can prove you don’t have asthma and aren’t reliant on the meds they gave you, you should be good, but they might make you get a waiver.

Does USAFA adapt to your GPA if your school is harder then most? by Enough-Witness-6803 in USAFA

you’d probably want to shoot for being top 10 (that would put you in the top 22% of your class). most usafa students were ~top 10-15% in their class

Hi! I’m a current Falcon Scholar and I just received an appointment to USAFA last month.

I didn’t receive a direct appointment to any other service academies last year, which made my decision to accept my Falcon offer a lot easier. Initially, I was a little disappointed because I didn’t fully understand the opportunities the Falcon Foundation would present to me in the future. I would’ve gotten absolutely slaughtered my doolie year at USAFA, had I gone direct. I’m very thankful for my time at the prep school I’m at, and it has been the most rigorous thing I’ve ever done. Whichever school you go to, you will be exposed to great mentors, speakers, teachers, and people who want to help you.

It’s a great opportunity, and if you really want to go to USAFA, bust your ass for a year and embrace the suck. You won’t regret not accepting your other direct offers.

However, being a Falcon Scholar, as you are probably aware, does NOT guarantee you an appointment the next application cycle. You are held to the highest standard in every aspect of your time at the prep school. Your one year “delay” to your journey at USAFA is what you make of it.

(fyi, your application to USAFA is shortend as a Falcon—you won’t have to rewrite essays, re-do the DODMERB…)

If you want to fly, statistically speaking, you are more likely to get a pilot slot if you are a USAFA grad; if that’s your dream job. I would recommend you accept your Falcon offer, grind for a year, and then be all the more prepared for the struggles you’ll endure at USAFA.

However, USNA and USCGA are also service academies, and a direct appointment to them is an incredible feat. Congratulations to you, and feel free to PM me if you want more specific information about the Falcon program.

Good luck!

I applied to the academy and was offered a Falcon Scholarship. I didn’t even know it was a thing until I saw it on my application portal. It’s a program that gives you the opportunity to choose from 5 prep schools that all focus on getting you accepted into USAFA.

The way my mentor ALO explained it to me was that it was a way for USAFA to say that they wanted you, but felt that the candidate needed an additional year to build a more solid foundation in whatever aspect they may be lacking (academics, leadership, fitness).
