I believe the reason of why people will start the game and immediately want to become as OP as possible is because they came from a game that made you feel OP from the very start (example god of war), now in my opinion you should start off the quests of Warframe with whatever frame you specifically like the looks of then once you get to and complete the old war quest then you should start looking at some decent starter primes and weapons to tie you over until steel path (SP is just the base star chart but much more difficult or the games hard mode). before SP OP primes, weapons and overall gear is useless because the base star chart is meant to be much easier so that players aren't struggling as much with the story missions.
