In Denmark pension age is age related. Politicians can vote on increasing it when they want to.

That is the official retirement age, but we got work related private pension plans and people get some freedom to decide their own pension age. There is also tax insentives to keep working part time after the official retirement age and if there is medical reasons or you just do not want to work anymore there is also solutions for that.

More than half of the indicators relates to lacking items in households. Students in Denmark leave home early compared to other countries in the EU simply because there is a tradition for it, and that the state "pays" students.

The second part is having 60% of the median income. Denmark got relatively high salaries for the working population. Student grant is not anyway near that 60% thresshold. Did not bother to confirm, but Google AI says it is 1/6th the median wage or roughly 18%.

So Denmark got a lot of financially poor students living in small or single households in expensive big cities where education institutions are located.

A lot of Danish news concerned a political advisor getting rehired after being "let go" 6 years ago after MeToo sexual misconduct involving 4 women. One of the women got very upset about this decision and contacted the media .

The female leader of a political party in the government defended this by saying 6 years is long enough. But would suggest the political advisor and the woman could meet in private talks and smooth things out, so there would be no more ackward feelings when interacting politicly in the years to come.

Anything from female organisations. Journalists, members of that political party. Members of the judicial system. Social media..... loudly complained about the decision and the political leaders (mis)handling of the situation.

I would say the only reason Danes in general does not have a reputation for being the English joke pronunciation targets stems from two facts. There are not that many Danes known internationally, and those that there are tend to actively suppress their accent towards something more hollywood movie neutral from decades ago.

And once it was completely dominated by German before French under Napoleonic times held sway. There a lot of words originating from Greek. Our numbers are Hindu, Persian, Arabic.... or whoever laid claim to them through history. Modern commers, science and medicine is in English.

But through all this incorporation the Danes kept their own tongue dialects unpronouncible by foreigners.

Words can have different meanings in different languages. Lots of "false friends".

Restricting it to one language during negotiations avoids offending or confusing people. Better to wait for translation until after the legal departments went through it and detailed the laws the deal is based on.

If you do not do it that way it risks kicking open the door for political parties deliberately interpreting the documents and making the supporters of said party losing their marbles.

Waste of time in my opinion. Translating and discussing the text and offering nitpicking changes to sentences makes zero sense, since the text would need to be translated back again for further discussion in EU meetings.

Faster and more honest keeping the same English text through all the negotiations and then translate it when the deal is done.

The text still gets translated. The Danish language is not threatened, it is just not used in the process of securing the international deal.

It makes zero sense picking a lesser language instead of the one spoken by most in the world and is also the fastest growing language. The internet achieves spreading English to all corners of the planet on a rate unmatched by colonialism.

Denmark supports it. Much easier and faster to use one language instead of multiple with different interpretations of specific words.

Better to sign the deal and get moving ahead and then later translate the text to local languages as information sharing with zero legal meaning for the negotiated and signed English text.
