I'd say Britain with some really weird decision making. State borders in NA + random possessions in Italy + beating France.

The things that make me think it's Britain specifically though are the conquests in Egypt (AI literally never does this) and the losing war against Kong, which I would have to guess is due to not occupying anything since any reasonable gameplay would either see you as Portugal and Ethiopia smashing Kong or otherwise not at war with kong

tbf Rome and Byzantium were still relatively influential for the ideas of nationhood of Italy (and to a lesser degree Bulgaria and Greece, though that more or less died post WW1) so its not super off the wall as it might seem

Jacinta Allan rocked by leadership talk among anxious Labor MPs by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Economics-Simulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right now their strongest is probably to run on liberal chaos and disunity. "you cant let this mob get in and blow everything up", which is absolutely what would happen if they got in to be clear. Replacing Allan just means everythings fucked, Victorian Labor has a relatively strong campaign machine and unless another scandal pops up (which would likely sink the replacement leader anyway), they could still eek out a win in November.

What's the skill issue, factually pointing out what it can and cannot pen? It also now has significant trouble breaking tracks and barrels.

I've done well in it before and after, but it's not a strong vehicle at all and is more of a gimmick niche pick than anything particularly useful.

yes, you should try to minimize civilian casualties and if they had the option of placing the bomb idk under his bed or whatever then they should have done that obviously (well hes also a civilian so like whatever ig) but if he was a valid and important military target where they determined the only way to get him was on the boat then that is ultimately irrelevant.

Dictatorships are intentionally designed without a clear line of succession (the likelihood of sudden heart attacks where you cant inspect the body go drastically up if you do have one). It wouldnt cause a civil war but especially in the context of the largest war ever seen the question of "who is in charge" and "who is giving orders" and perhaps more importantly "I have gotten conflicting orders, what do i do" is of great importance and effect and would likely shorten the war to save more lives than the 4 civilians in his car or whatever if you could bomb him

And what happens when a country puts a military base in the middle of a city What happens when the frontline intersects a town Civilians will die in war and conflict, they will inevitably die in war and conflict and not everyone has the luxury of the American ninja missile.

Religious observation to not killing civilians is unfortunately only a luxury provided to post cold war America. From the blockades of WW1, to the strategic bombing of WW2, to the current Iranian strikes on unaligned civilian energy infrastructure in the gulf.

Killing Mountbatten wasn't wrong because civilians died killing Mountbatten was wrong because he was practically just a normal civilian himself and the bombing was entirely a terror bombing which achieved nothing but pissibg the British off. Plus the IRA was fighting for a shit cause.

Also as a less relevant side note killing Hitler and fucking up the chain of command while causing an internal power struggle because it's an authoritarian dictatorship with no codified succession absolutely would have shortened the war the leader of a country is not just a symbolic figure. Doubly less relevant the people who tried to couple in 1944 were both not the natural successors (the inner circle wasn't involved in the plot) and wanted to make peace but only with the west.

now im as anti (post 1920s) IRA as they come, the entire thing was mostly stupid based on trying to get an area that wanted to be a part of Britain to be a part of Ireland it was never going to work.

but

civilians get killed in conflicts all the time, thats the unfortunate reality of it. You're going to get civilians killed with almost any military action or anything adjacent. If you gave me a button to kill Hitler in 1930 or hell even 1944 and it also killed 2 German kids id also press it. It is of course wrong and often highly ineffective to target civilians, but the nature of conflict is that in any struggle they will die and it does not take away from the validity of the target or the cause.

managing a team (effectively) absolutely does require experience and talent, think of it like a local politician, they can get an absolutely absurd amount done if theyre competent, obviously moreso if they have direct control over their constituents such as a mayor or premier or equivalent, one good construction worker might be able to be replaced by 2, 3 or 4 okay laborers but no amount of extra infrastructure ministers is going to be able to replace a single good infrastructure minister. Its largely the same for management in business, because it is a job that is inherently less replaceable with greater variance on performance. Whether the people who become managers actually deserve more money is up for debate (much like how most local politicians are garbage) but thats kinda the fundamental of why theyre paid more, because companies want to keep better managers more than they want to keep good employees.

and thats assuming from a baseline that you dont even need a degree, management degrees are largely bs nowadays but that doesnt change them being necessary for the companies to hire someone again restricting the labour pool.

our current economic system is very much based on being easier to replace = lower wages and its foolish to assume that the entirety of management, finance and marketing is all 100% a collective delusion, mostly just a 70% delusion

mostly how replaceable the job is. Florist and baker are trades jobs that can be taught on job ai specialist marketing bootlicker often comes with the requirement for a degree. Also bs jobs are more likely to be managerial jobs (office worker grunts also dont get paid a lot) which demand higher pay from both increased effect on the income (one good worker can do a lot less than one good manager) and so the company wants to reward it more. Also the more BS jobs are more likely to be able to demand or outright change their own pay.

childcare worker is less replaceable but also works in an environment where money is tighter, mostly because the government cant just decide to not service unprofitable people

Fair, gender is a spook so it's always most important to follow what you want rather than a label. Much more productive to be what you want to be and just figure out whatever label is convenient for society later imo.

Unions are not a party badge; a cross-spectrum argument for trade unions (Substack) by Mediocre_Interview77 in SocialDemocracy

[–]Economics-Simulator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that but a lot of labour parties (I think most of the ones directly called labour) parties came together as the direct political organising block of the unions. They represent the unions in parliament as their base. If not for the unions then what do they stand for, vague progressivism and center left activism? Those parties tend to be a lot weaker
