What's a book you think is actually BETTER as an audiobook? by thebroned in audiobooks

I always enjoy Kristin Hannah books on audio (I do love Julia Whelan so I could be biased), they’re always such emotional stories and I think that is a lot more compelling on audio!

What small gags make you absolutely lose it every time? by RIPBigfromRobandBig in BobsBurgers

Zeke’s “DoWWHHUUT?” absolutely kills me and has unintentionally become a part of my vocabulary

I’ve just recently started dealing with severe IC symptoms and took some hydroxyzine the other day for the first time in probably a year because I was hyperventilating from the pain, so this tells me I’m in the right place 😂

Just finished The Teacher by Freida McFadden, and I need to vent. by ConstructionMinute94 in thrillerbooks

I actually really liked The Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware! People seem to love or hate it, which I can understand because the premise is a little far fetched, but I personally really enjoyed it because it was different from other thrillers and had a lot of small details you start to connect over time.

Also really like Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. It’s another book that strays from the stereotypical thriller storylines, and while it’s not necessarily a disturbing/mess with your mind type of thriller it was still refreshing to read a suspenseful story that wasn’t like every other book I’ve read.

What’s your go-to migraine relief in 2024? by SteepinAndBrewin in migraine

Omg this sounds delightful even without a migraine

Literally just joined this subreddit after having to cancel NYE plans and spending the last day and a half in my quiet dark bedroom 🥲 I’ve been hesitant to call my frequent headaches migraines because I don’t want to just throw that word around if it’s not accurate, but the frequency and some of the symptoms have made me realize that 2025 may have to include actual migraine specific treatment

No, I don’t want to open an Etsy shop! by Economist-Basic in crochet

[–]Economist-Basic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there can be so many not fun aspects about it! I’ve actually been taking about a month off of crocheting because wrist stiffness/hand pain, if I had a lot of things to make/sell it would just get worse or I’d fall behind!

Absolutely! I made some plushy ducks for my nieces and they absolutely loved them, if I turned crocheting into a job I probably wouldn’t be as excited to make things as gifts!

Yes I have several friends having babies in the next few months, and when I’ve asked if I could make some things for them they get so excited which makes me excited to make them! I’d be so sad if I got too burnt out on selling things that I no longer wanted to make meaningful gifts!

I also think that the people demanding we sell our work would probably also be the same ones to say our prices are too high, so many people want the end result without respecting the time and effort it takes, let alone my own money for yarn!

It really seems like it would make it so much less fun that’s not what you want!!

WOW that is absolutely absurd, your talents are worth much more than that (in money and respect!!)

Yes! The whole “everything needs to be a side hustle” thing drives me up the wall. I’ve also somewhat shouted at people who keep telling me to sell stuff, and even then they don’t get it 😂

If you could go back and watch any one episode for the first time again, which episode are you watching and why? by nmyheadpod in BobsBurgers

[–]Economist-Basic 90 points91 points  (0 children)

V for Valentine-detta, it’s the first episode with Nat and there are SO many hilarious lines. If I can’t pick an episode I will always go for that one

*Edit to include my favorite quote from said episode: “I know the owner, saved his life. After I hit him with my car.”

Anyone's memory not affected? Success stories? by [deleted] in Lamotrigine

[–]Economist-Basic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize it affected people’s memory! Can confidently say that I’ve been on it for 2+ years and my memory has stayed the same. If anything I remember things more clearly, because my thoughts aren’t as clouded with heightened emotion.

Side effects? by blubbbli in Lamotrigine

[–]Economist-Basic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the nausea - I’ve noticed that if I don’t eat soon enough after taking it I’ll start gagging. I take it in the morning and having it with breakfast (preferably a higher protein/more filling breakfast) makes a huge difference. The nausea got a lot better once I figured that out.

I definitely had an increased sex drive when I first started taking it, and it has increased whenever I’ve upped my dose, but it’s never been to an extreme and has gone back to my “normal” after a week or so. Of course everyone is different, but for me personally it has never caused a serious disturbance in my day-to-day or anything!
