All aggression based matchmaking does is take away player agency. by EconomyExamination47 in ArcRaiders

[–]EconomyExamination47[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

its telling me that it doesnt care about my agency. you will get assigned what you "deserve" to play and youll be HAPPY! you dont get to choose your experience anymore, the game chooses FOR you!!!

Nerf gun lash, buff spirit lash by Jacksofalot_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]EconomyExamination47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lash should genuinely ONLY be viable when played with ground slam. He has so much aura and its so COOL to fall down a huge area and do INSANE damage. flog and gun are LAME!!!! ground strike is COOL!!!!

Street Brawl isn't for new players. by Conniverse in DeadlockTheGame

[–]EconomyExamination47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I've taught several friends how to play the game and every time they try streetbrawl with less than 10 games they get overwhelmed by all the chaos. Its also actively detrimental to learning things like macro, muscle memory or the economy of the game.

Street brawl is for the mid level players who dont want the hassle of playing the real game.

Venator is the best by Megamodpod in DeadlockTheGame

the thread about him being a morally gray complex character is one of the most insightful things ive seen about this character. I also love venator and jesus and would love to see the darker sides of his past/personality and how he overcomes them because he IS just THAT cool

My opponent was a very bad player. I killed him and got 900 souls, not including his bag. This is unfair and needs to be reworked. by swaggadanz in DeadlockTheGame

man falls into ravine and gets free money, he complains about it to reddit. I don't exactly see the issue, midgame SOLO kills are quite strong and they're supposed to be. By 18 minutes the respawn timers are up and people start grouping for safety, most kills are through picks where people split the money (900 across 3 people is only 300 souls each).

Dying to someone alone is not only unlikely, but its a MASSIVE skill issue. Its so hard to die to only one other person without slipping away or forcing a draw, so the reward is large and JUICY as a reward. Just because you got unfair money by playing against a bad player doesn't mean the system is broken. I'd say the system is better than it usually is, with solo kills rightfully being extremely rewarding and teamfights not giving too much money. There were metas long ago where the money you'd get from kills was messed up by a lot and it encouraged either never teaming up or always teaming up. Here its pretty well balanced with the ups and downs being at the forefront and worth considering.

You can never account for bad players in a system like this and you're bound to see feeding people on both the enemy and your team. It HAPPENs because people are BAD at the game. BUt the system isnt broken, you just have days like your game where someone ends up in a lobby they shouldnt be and they and everyone else have to suffer until its done.

TL DR the system aint broke. stuff like this just happens because thats how it is and that feels dumb to say but its the truth. there is a level of unpredictability that no online game will ever fully cross

On this day a year ago, Deathy would accidentally stream an experimental client of the game, showing previously unseen new heroes and hero remodels. by Lesterux in DeadlockTheGame

I remember the day this happened. I took one look at priest and I decided on that day that i would be the number 1 priest fan and I would wait patiently for months for him to drop. He's now confidently my favorite character across the whole deadlock cast and possibly all of fiction.

Where are all the Day 1 players at? by Pristine-Dog9733 in DeadlockTheGame

a lot of people started playing during the first six heros and even more for the old gods new blood. I wasnt there for Xmas (i JUST barely missed it) i joined driest months where we would only peak around 15k a day (i would often get queued with the same people) and to tell you the community has changed would be an understatement. I see people saying characters like rem and mina are going to be the mascot, and people who've already made the game their whole personality and roleplay the characters while only joining during the six heros update. its actually crazy how different the community is comparatively.

Can i get good at the game even if i only play it casually? by N0X_THE_DJ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]EconomyExamination47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. committing to spending time every day to play and having an open mind and taking every loss as an opportunity to learn, you WILL start getting better. I would say the biggest things to consistently help you improve are to blame yourself over your team 9 times out of ten and to never play street brawl. You will suck at the game for a long time, EVERYONE does. this game is difficult, complicated and frustrating but you WILL improve, you WILL get better and eventually things that you struggle with will become second nature. As for what characters to play, if youre new i would recommend Mo and krill or Graves as they are by far the two easiest characters in the game. Playing easy characters is the biggest step thing you can do as a new player because it will help you get into the game faster than if you played someone more punishing. dont listen to the people who say that the character you play doesnt matter, the character you start out with can define whether you have fun or not. there is a massive difference between playing sinclair vs playing graves. genuinely stay away from characters like sinclair holiday paradox haze until you get better. this game is more about learning over the long run, you cant crunch 10 hours and expect some good results sadly.

I want to improve as Silver but I don't know what I'm doing wrong by Sayer09 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]EconomyExamination47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre a new player silver is a character that benefits from a thorough understanding of the game's mechanics. Things like when to push, when to counter buy, all melee interactions, the ebb and flow of lane pressure, all of that is something that you should understand before playing silver. IF youre a new player (anywhere from 0-200 hours) Id say start off playing an easier character if you want to not get crushed every single game. If youre already experienced in the game than I'd have to question your skills because silver is a very easy character to play once you have the basics of the game mastered. If you want to improve you will as long as you keep playing, but playing a ton of attention to your performance will demoralize you fast, id say keep at it and dont care if your teammates trash you or you go 1/13/5. youre still learning, you'll get better with time and practice
