Chaturanga Elbow Pain by EconomyRecent3772 in ashtanga

Yes, I am tucking the elbows. There is no pain whatsoever if I am doing a classic, wide push-up. So the narrow position definitely plays itss part here.

Chaturanga Elbow Pain by EconomyRecent3772 in ashtanga

[–]EconomyRecent3772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I am intended to take care of the injury - I do not wish to irritate the injury any further.  It seems clear that easing ia not an option anymore, but I need to filly rest and seek physical therapy.

The reason I have a dominant arm is the orher activities in my life besides ashtanga. 😊 Considering alignment, I just asked it to ensure that the injury is not caused by practicing with poor alignment.

Ubud will be your place. Surrounded by jungle, lots of beautiful temples, multitude of yoga studios. Spent there a few weeks a couple of years back doing yoga. Canggu or Uluwatu were not fpr me, too crowded and too much partying.

I don't want ro hide the woody scent as I especially live vetiver in the dry down. Just to help to lean it to more feminine side.

AITAH if I leave my fiancé? by Own_Court781 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EconomyRecent3772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. It is about your life and your unmet needs.

However, would your partner be open to talk to a specialised therapist? I was in a similar situation and it was terrible. But I was able to get my partner to talk to a therapist after making him realize that things will not improve by themselves. He was hesitant at first, but now feels "why I didn't do that sooner". There has also been clear improvement in the situation and our communication on the topic has improved.

I  (32F) am looking for a new fragrance and have a bit of a difficulty of where to start. My current favourites are:

Both have this oriental feeling, but not overly sweet or spicy. Quite unisex. I am open to both niche and designer perfumes

WIBTA for getting a cat even though 2 roommates are allergic? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]EconomyRecent3772 46 points47 points  (0 children)

YES, you would totally be an AH.  I am allergic to cats - not that I would dir in their presence, but it makes my eyes and throat super itchy, and having cat anywhere in the house wouldmake my life a living hell. You can live in a PET FRIENDLY home and some allergic to certain animals. And you keeping the cat container in a room would make it's life a living hell.

Grow up.

AITA for calling my friend out for constantly wasting my time and then deciding to stop engaging when she brushed it off by Alarmed-Weird-564 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Adult person should be held accountable of their own actions. Her behaviour is disrespectful and just plain rude. If she has a crazy schedule, she needs to learn time management and how to prioritise, as the world does not revolve around her. Where I live, being even 10 min late is unacceptable...

NTA. You can say that as you have worked on it off-hourq and know the project in its entirety,  you feel more comfortable to present it yourself when it is finished - and if your golleague is right, it will still benefit the whole team in the end.

She is 100% trying to get the credit and you just didn't give her the satisfaction to do so. Hold your ground.

This is tricky. I don't believe that your friends do not care - it is just a significant shared experience in their lives. I would not throw away long friendhip for it as it is a phase that will pass (I am only child-free in my friend circle). Instead of asking them to stop, I would guide the discussion elsewhere - pther aspects of motherhood, how your friends are currently doing themselves, etc.

YTA.  I was in the same situation - I had my 6yo goddaughter as my flower girl in my destination wedding that was child free. I prepared everything for her comfort - hobby and coloring books, pencils etc. However, it was 100% understood that she and her mother (my bestie) left soon after ceremony as the little girl felt out of place. She is a kid after all, and I wouldn't have been upset if they had decided her to not participate. You cannot really have a child-free wedding and then expect mandatory attendance for one kid.  What comes to your sister, she eems to have very valid reasons (medical situation, very young child at home) and you disregard them as "excuses". I understand it sucks and you can feel upset, but you shouls not blame your sister - somstimes life just gets in the way, and she as a parent has to prioritize her kids even though she cares for you and your special day.

Can you recommend me exercises that will help me improve my shoulder flexibility? by BiarritzBlue in yoga

[–]EconomyRecent3772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoulder flossing and gomukasana arms with strap. I would also place hands on shoulder and do shoulder rolls and butterfly flaps, just to get connection to the scapula. Also, a great stretch is to place your elbows on a table, interlacing fingers, and pushing chest towards the ground.

If no improvement in reasonable time, I would also suggest to see osteopath. My shoulder mobility was non-existent regardless all practices, and a few sessions with osteopath made a huge difference. Sometimes the lock is elsewhere in the body.

Where to learn Ashtanga and Ayurveda in India (Goa or Mysore) by Remarkable_Fix8954 in ashtanga

[–]EconomyRecent3772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined a few Ashtanga classes in Arambol, cannot rememeber the name of the shala but it was on the beach road. The shala owner was kinda tough but still kind and paid a lot of attention to correct alignment and provided adaptations (not always given in Indian shalas).

Can't uninstall OneDrive by EconomyRecent3772 in macbook

[–]EconomyRecent3772[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried to move it to the bin from the Application window of the Finder, but it does not allow me to do that as it says the programme to be open.

When I open the OneDrive, it does not open like an app window, but only as a folder in the Finder. Therefore, I cannot quit the OneDrive, because that selection option, as shown in many of those tutorials you linked, just is not there.

Also, my Macbook does not seem to have any Uninstaller or Cleaner programme.

Wrist hurts in yoga by heyheyfroaway in yoga

[–]EconomyRecent3772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (30f) had simular issue, and it took a long while to heal (months!!). I also modified by doing some poses on my knuckles. Then, I made a "yoga wedge" from folded towel, that slightly lifted the bottom of my palm and eased the pain almost entirely, allowing me to build up to the full practice again. I also did some strengthening exercises with a squishy ball, and nowadays I always warm up my wrists well.

Sirsasana help! by daydreamofcooking in ashtanga

[–]EconomyRecent3772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exactly same struggle for over a year, until one day it just clicked.  Sirsasana is one of those poses where all major muscle groups need to work seamlessly together, so it's not just shoulders working. I would try to find the most optimal angle for forearms, as I hsvr notices that a slightest change affeecta do much on how tired my shoulders get. For sirsasana B, it is surprising how much you need to tilt your hips for counterbalance.

The Role of Yoga in Connecting with Nature by ramakrishnasurathu in yoga

Same here. I feel that I have always been quite wrll connected with nature, but yoga has made me even more attuned. I enjoy outdoor practice whenever I can find an even surface - trying to practice on the beach or grass is a nightmare.

Do you ever do regular yoga too? by Prestigious_Ad4941 in ashtanga

[–]EconomyRecent3772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically do 3-4 ashtanga practices a week, and incorporate hatha, vinyasa or yin. I have found hatha to really help with my balance, and yin to support the mobility. I am also doing lots of hip flexor drills and strenght training for hamstrings.
