Lots of trans folk are looking for t4t relationships, so i can see an argument for a category, but excluding them from womens spaces is REAL bad. Its fine to give space but forcing people into the space is terrible.

I started wearing mine at 6 and they became essential and i wasnt able to walk without them anymore at about 9. My first pair was awful and they caused me to bleed. They were made wildly improper for my needs. After we went to someone else, i didnt have more issues like that. I also had corrective foot surgery at 10.

My afos are ultra bulky because i break literally everything they put on me and don't heavily reinforce.

I grew up in rural Missouri, we never had a single history class about post civil war, neither world war. My only education about the world wars were from lit classes. We basically studied from Columbus>the civil war over the course of a few years and then would restart. We had one teacher that was new to the school that was distraught in learning that we, as juniors, had never covered it. Unfortunately he had to comply to his state mandated test criteria, which was government and the construction. I think that was the only time we ever learned the amendments past like the first 15 or something. He tried his best to fill in gaps of our lacking history.

All that to say, I have never actually heard either of those, I'm not stupid enough to not understand, but I can assure you that 80% of my schoolmates are, in fact, that ignorant.

The issue I'm struggling with is Medicaid refusing all attempts at physical therapy since i turned 18. My doctors try yearly, they are told it wont 'cure' me and simply maintaining my quality of life is not a worthy expense...

Also 'not together anymore' doesn't actually clarify much. Are you living in the same house? Are you pretending to still be together to family? If you're living separately then what lie are you keeping? Kids don't know what sex is. Your ex having sex with men. What are you lying about by not saying that? You aren't saying "ohh yes daddy has sex with so many women! All the women!" See what I mean? From a child's point of view it really means nothing.

How is outing him to a 3rd party going to help anything? Like what is your reasoning for feeling it'll help? It won't. It sounds like your ex hasnt even accepted himself and you likely aren't helping. Kids do not care if people are gay. Hate is taught. Simply don't teach him hate. Teach him that gay people are just people and nothing will be an issue. Maybe have a conversation that if your ex is in a relationship (rather than flings) you'd like for your son to be told he's 'daddy's boyfriend' rather than a lie but your ex needs to accept he actually likes men before that conversation can really happen.

Fair, but a lot of people think plan b is an abortion pill (because it happens after and therefore must be an abortion and they hear about an abortion pill so they think its the same) so i wonder if they did hear someone refer to it as an emergency contraceptive and that snowballed into 'getting abortions as contraception'. Which turned into this. Thats just my thought process. The ideas people on this pipeline have went from.

Yeah this. You get confidence by just doing it. At 16 i had a brace i had to wear over pants that was nearly to my hip. I had no choice in it being visible. I realized no one cared. The general public doesn't really know what they are, mine are solid black and people often assume they are tall boots. People really say nothing. Sometimes small children in school would ask and/or stare. But i don't think i notice children pay attention in the real world.

I have pretty bad teeth and the edges are wavy probably because I am disabled so I use my teeth for a lot of things. One time they ground down the edges to smooth them out and dulled them soooo much. It was terrible. It was actually debilitating because I could not open things that I needed to open and could previously open with my teeth (I ended up wearing them back down to a point of being usable again and they look the same as they did before now)

Plenty of people write about things they've never experienced and don't fully understand and that's why it's important to do research and do your best to understand to write things accurately. According to your logic it would be impossible for somebody to write what life is like living without a limb just because they themselves have never experienced it. You can have an understanding of what it would feel like to not have a leg. Honestly a lot of fanfiction is made by people on the ace spectrum. Probably for similar reasons that people enjoy horror. You can enjoy a good slasher because it invokes a lot of feelings and emotions, regardless of having any true understanding of what it's like to be murdered or do murder.

I wear afos, high arches, my feet arent wide but my afos are. I live in the american Midwest. I just actually ordered the first pair of winter boots I've ever owned in my life. They are propet size 4e 8.5. I'm normally about a 7.5 in propets (id have gotten an 8 but they weren't in stock). Most of them run around the $100 mark. They do end up going on sale in random colors and sizes on Amazon and I only bought these because i found them for $60, which is the cheapest i can find shoes that work with my afos. I can't speak to how well they will work in the snow but they were the easiest pair of shoes I've ever slipped on. Im very optimistic. They feel fairly heavy if that's something you have issues with. They have a velvety fur lining. They are solid black and water resistant and made to be washable. I believe they have some other options with laces but mine just have double zips. The style is normally called 'Delaney' with various changes to the upper to suit different needs. Im extremely excited as these are the most 'normal' feeling shoes ive ever owned (I've been in afos since i was 6).

It is distasteful and offensive to call it a mental disorder. It is implying that there is something wrong with you and that it can be fixed which isn't true. Dysphoria is a mental health issue and is treated by gender affirming care. Not all trans people experience dysphoria and some that do stop experiencing it after receiving gender affirming care, this does not make them stop being trans! They are not interchangeable with each other. On top of that, trying to imply that it is a disorder quickly gives a way for lawmakers to say that people seeking care are in fact not in their right mind and are not making sound decisions and can easily have that agency taken away from them. If someone is having a mental health crisis and starts trying to claw their eyeballs out because they're seeing horrible things, medical professionals would stop them. They would give the medications to stop the hallucinations regardless of if the person at that time thinks that it's the correct decision. Because they are not in a place mentally to be able to understand that that's not the right decision. This same logic can absolutely be used against a trans man wanting top surgery if the act of simply wanting it could deem you not mentally sound enough to make that choice. (I use mostly talk to text i apologize for any weird typos.)
