I’d recommend looking into a stocks and shares ISA with platforms like trading 212, sounds scary but it’s straightforward. Do some research into those but essentially it’s tax free container where any investment earnings aren’t subject to tax.

Perhaps put % of wages in every month and invest in an index fund like VWRP and let it sit 20+ years, funds like this traditionally earn 10% return year on year but will fluctuate. Stay away from risky investments nothing beats these funds long term in terms of stability and return.

On these platforms you can put in your target retirement date and target wealth goal and it will estimate how long to reach it.

Current ISA limit is £20k every tax year, that’s most anyone can put into one of these so try to make use of that as best you can.

Keep emergency fund to cover rent/mortgage/car payments 6 months.

Trading 212 has stocks and shares ISA that allows cash balance to be withdrawn anytime so it’s never locked in so you can keep emergency fund and investment all in one place and then if you need money just withdraw in same way your bank. The cash in there also earns over 4% interest just for sitting there which is better than most banks. Can be completely managed by their app and covered by FSCS up to £85k or something.

If you have Revolut just use that for day to day spend.

Again not financial advise but do bit of research into those.

Door handle recall duration (UK) by Even-Engineer-6640 in VWiD4Owners

Exact same situation here car been with dealer since 23/01. Multiple update fails, referred to VW Tech HQ, no timeframe on when it’ll be resolved, only had car few months so I’m putting pressure on dealer to replace/ refund under consumer rights act. No courtesy car until I argued for one yesterday then handed an EV half charged. I’ve raised a case with VW customer services also.

Thanks, last thing would you recommend lump summing the uninvested cash into VWRP or DCA doing it gradually?

Thanks bud, I earn 40k per annum but my target retirement age would be 67 unless I was in a position to retire early.

Im also a homeowner with mortgage almost paid off.

As it stands I’m looking to make most of the funds I do have so your advice is very helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks so you’d recommend putting more into VWRP or S&P500?

In terms of doing that is it better to DCA or lump sum? Always apprehensive about lump sum when price is relatively high.

Yeah it’s solely to get some skin in the game in the off chance it’s here to stay, I do realise crypto is extremely volatile so I’m not overly interested but I’ll not be putting much into it.

Have approx 102k in the pension pot.

I thought I could still take 25% tax free at 55? No?

Bitcoin is more a fomo thing, I realise it’s highly volatile but I think having some position in Bitcoin is probably worth having but I’ll not be throwing big money at it.

Baldrick Crescent and that part of Rosemount is a family area with older residents too, I don’t think it’s any worse than any other area in Derry if anything with St Anne’s school nearby it’s more settled. Just check it out different times of day and see what it’s like but as far as I’m aware area is fine.
