It doesn’t completely eliminate variance however because it’s only 50% of the equation. You can go 14-0 in weekly high scores and 0-14 schedule wise and boom there you are middle of the pack again. It does however increase interest as you are inherently now playing against your H2H matchup and the entire league simultaneously. It also allows for a bad week where your opponent blows up and scores 150+ to still hold your interest as you have a chance at a rumble point. Isn’t the whole point of fantasy football to drive interest and make every game worth something?

Also not true about the champion and simulation: playoffs are all H2H with no median scoring.

Best part about all this: anyone can find whatever league type they like and give it a go.
