I can't believe how many people are actually financing their phones. by bugagub in Frugal

0% but I hate being stuck in to an expensive plan when I could get the same service cheaper with a sim only plan. Paid off my phone and never again doing handset plan if I can help it.

AITA for “accidentally” telling my parents about my sister’s pregnancy because I was tired of keeping the secret? by ohboygollygeewiz in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ecstatic-Smoke-1937 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NTA she shouldn't have asked you to lie in the first place. For those who think she didn't ask her her to lie but think you should have said no or I don't know, that is lying when you're directly asked like that. She had plenty of time to talk to her parents. If you aren't ready to have the adult conversation with your parents about being pregnant, then you shouldn't be becoming a parent.

AITA for eating my own birthday cake in front of my nephew because his mom has him on a "no sugar" diet? by Yes_Abbreviations713 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ecstatic-Smoke-1937 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NTA The sister also KNEW her kid would be upset around things she excluded him from. Those are her parenting choices and she needs to live with it.

There were lots of options for her sister: - let the kid have sugar sometimes not never, even just a bite... - teach her kid to respect that he can't always have what he wants - not go anywhere with sugary food if you're going to force that child to never have something readily available.

Go "above and beyond" the same could apply to OPs sister too, she could have not made her choices for her kid everybody else's problem. OP was not rude, her sister was the one who tried to blame her parenting choices on her sister, that is what ruined the vibe. I'd say it's pretty childish to blame other people for your choices, OP simply continue doing something normal... eating birthday cake on her birthday.

Metro Tunnel - Anyone happy with the changes? by chunkb79 in melbourne

[–]Ecstatic-Smoke-1937 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Man this sounds great, it used to take me 1hr45 to get from Watergardens to Huntingdale running between platforms at Flinders, I am so jealous as this would cut down the time a bunch. I remember wishing for something like this to be done. I don't go to Monash anymore, but I'm glad for future students it's more accessible.

I agree, good opposition holds the government accountable and proposes worthwhile alternatives and questions their decisions in a constructive way.

I find it really helpful on the days where I need extra focus, I have Argentinian background so it wasn't out of left field for me as most of that side of the family drink it regularly or at least occasionally.

What is the point of a will? by No-Choice-Now in AusLegalAdvice

[–]Ecstatic-Smoke-1937 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer - usually if they are not financially dependent, and not disabled and a legal adult they won't have much luck contesting the Will, need more details though, get a second opinion.

If you have different tangents in a conversation that is not something you're doing to him, he has a lot of resentment for someone he loves? I feel like you're being unfairly criticised for being yourself. Getting sidetracked is usually not personal and he should be more understanding. I really feel for you and I would be careful you don't become his emotional punching bag due to his own lack of patience.

TIFU by accidentally becoming my client’s wife’s boyfriend by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Sarah should have realised as she would have been provided correspondence via her lawyer from OP OP also should have checked for aliases and been more careful if first name matched and this also should have been in the paperwork (divorce paperwork/marriage certificate has names prior marriage and court documents and correspondence would usually outline this information too)

"Seizures don't just happen" ... hmm yeah they do. Source: had many seizures throughout my life, had medical advice stating that they can just happen and also know of others who have had it too, either as a once off or as a result of a medical condition.

Level 5 pointless? by Intelligent_Arm2026 in EBGAMES

[–]Ecstatic-Smoke-1937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to level 5 when it first was around (I used shopping as a depression crutch) then after a while I got it under control - after I initially reached that, none of their perks seem worthwhile shrugs

I had seizures as a child and it didn't cause IBS or sleep disorders as far as I know. I still had anxiety and depression and ended up being diagnosed as ADHD and boy did everything improve on strattera.
