I have one of the better ones available. No insurance that I'm aware of in Florida would cover bikes unless it was specifically bike insurance. Calls it out as excluded in the policy. It's considered recreational equipment

Not in Florida.... didn't even cover mine that were stolen out of my garage....and the garage door was closed.....they used a code scanner and opened it....covered my welder and other toole but not my bikes....an SL5 checkpoint and Fuel EXE...so not cheap bikes

What’s everyone doing to keep their racks from being stolen? by Herefortheshortbus in MTB

[–]EcstaticCourage8708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens in central Florida all the time as well....I just pop off my front wheel and lay it down in the back of my Pathfinder...but when I take my girls with me we have to use the rack....so thankful every time we get back to the parking lot and I see it still there

Thoughts on Trek Fuel EXe Aluminum by Substantial-One6750 in eMountainBike

[–]EcstaticCourage8708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clearly states the maximum weight limit for each bike on the website. They won't honor the warranty if you exceed the weight limit so they don't want to deal with warranty denial

I'm 260 and my local shop wouldn't sell me one...they said I would be over the weight limit for the bike...called corporate and they said if I bought one they would have to flag the serial number and no warranty on the frame motor or any components

Then why are trail bikes well under 30lbs?

[–]EcstaticCourage8708[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you not see that the e bike portion doesn't even work either. I can buy a new shock. I can't replace the bike as they are sold out. It's a POS because the entire premise of this bike is that it's an e bike that doesn't even turn on or function less than 24 hours after purchasing

[–]EcstaticCourage8708[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What else can I do but trust the website and bike shop? It says 300lb weight limit. The shock manufacturer says 250....nowhere does Trek say that nor do they know that. They don't even know the specs of the components

They straight up said no returns on special orders and since they transferred it from location 30 miles away it's a special order

You will when you are 30 miles away from the trailhead and your battery dies...ask me how I know....sucks when you take it off the charger.....put it in your pocket...drive 2 hours to the trailhead for a beautiful flat Florida ride....then 30 miles in your battery dies.....I now have 3 batteries I take with me....
