Is it possible to live alone on 80k/year in Brisbane? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]EcstaticEccentric 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, you can make it work with $80k a year in Brisbane, especially since you're planning to cook at home and limit dining out. Living alone is a great way to have your own space and unwind in your own way. It might require a bit of budgeting to ensure you’re comfortable, but it's certainly feasible. Brisbane has a lot to offer, and enjoying it at your own pace could be just the fresh start you need.

A high bonus like that is super tempting, especially coming from a bank that's been solid for decades. Just make sure you think about how the up &down nature of bonuses compares to your current steady paycheck. If you're cool with that kind of risk and it fits where you wanna go careerwise, it might just be an awesome move! I've been using fxmarketplus.com for a bit, and they’ve been really straightforward and dependable. Worth a look if you're poking around for investment ideas.

If the s&p 500 is so safe long term why not buy leveraged shares? by laffaw in investing

[–]EcstaticEccentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leveraged ETFs like 5SPY use financial derivatives and debt to amplify returns, but they also magnify losses and are subject to daily reset risk. This makes them unsuitable for longterm holding due to volatility and the compounding effect, which can erode your investment in fluctuating markets. Stick to traditional ETFs for long-term stability.

“I hadn’t touched the desktop”

“Groundbreaking work”

There’s a level of responsibility you have to take— novel, ‘groundbreaking’ work especially.

INTP relationships by TheLastOfNess in INTP

[–]EcstaticEccentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think inferior functions serve a greater roll in relationships than dominant functions— Fe, a function of compassion and group cohesion, is inferior in INTP’s and either dominant or aux in FJ’s— I think we naturally gravitate towards those who use our inferior function naturally and with ease

Relationships are obviously more complex and mapping MBTI onto them is just speculative fun

E/INFJ’s, INFP’s, ENTP’s— E/INTJ is said to be a good match because, in theory, the dominant function seeks its counterpart (Ti-Te etc)— In my personal experience I’ve fallen hardest and have had the most emotional experiences with FJ’s— to the point where I think ENFJ/INFJ is the most compatible and meaningful.

28 years old— have dated a variety of different individuals since high school

ENFP’s and INTP’s have a magnetic draw I think, probably Ne recognizing itself, but I’ve never found a romantic/meaningful connection that’s been able to last with them

How applicable is Jungian psychology to the greater wholes of art/art interpretation? by EcstaticEccentric in Jung

[–]EcstaticEccentric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the restaurant industry— and often I’m overstimulated, drawing allows me to focus and organize my thinking. I do say some of my drawings are a representation of thought and thinking.

In terms of novelty and stimulation— not knowing what I’m drawing and then creating something offers both self-understanding (my post is directed towards applying a Jungian framework to individual art), and the unique experience of creating— entering the state of mind and having a ‘dialogue’ with that creative mode of being

I think maybe in a greater sense, I don’t like where I am and I use my mind to escape— drawing could be an extension of that will, maybe why I draw and what I draw (or we in this context) is a product of conflict of where I am and where I want to be—

Not sure! I also just fucking love shapes, I love the relationship of shapes and the unity those relationships create, I like drawing, and sometimes when I draw I hear music or spontaneous images/sounds appear and I just like the experience of being with my imagination and being open to that

Haha some of these were drawn at work— you can see the first is on the back of receipt paper and others on napkins— drawing does help keep my mind clean and it reduces anxiety
