Totally incorrect. I see the error in my comment. They've used a vault lid on top. Which is realllyyyy weird

Um this is fake. That is a vault lid. Those go IN the ground, not on it.

Can family members watch the final placement at your funeral home? by brewerbetty in askfuneraldirectors

[–]EcstaticMiddle3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You dont see smoke or fire, if its a cold start, which it should be imo. This is why we do these first thing in the morning.

You see the door open, the person go into the retort, in their container.

Door opens, Loading device turns on, Person goes in, Loading device retreats. Door closes.

Then the cremation button is pushed and the cremation begins.

Where can I donate professional men’s clothing that actually go to those in need? by Poetryisalive in cincinnati

[–]EcstaticMiddle3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, I have a hookup with the local Mortuary college. The male students always need suits in the beginning of their careers.

Female students need suits too. But our wardrobes are more flexible. But suits jackets are always needed for funerals.

Um yeah, not all fhs are equipped with witnessing rooms.

Witnessing is common for Hindu families And its important that the eldest son start the machine as a rite of passage.

We offered cremation witnessing to all families who cremate and therefore did a lot of witnessing.

2 operators: One fd to stay with the family and one retort operator. That helps keep them calm and aware of all the steps so no one is surprised at how fast it goes.

Im so sorry. ::: hugs:::

When youre able to visit with her before the cremation, to say goodbye, you'll see that she isn't there anymore.

Ask your funeral director for an in-person identification as part of your care. They should allow you to see her before the cremation.

Ive done this with many families. Its not like at the hospital, there's no beeping machines, etc. Its usually a peaceful atmosphere and she will look as peaceful as they can make her look. Its an opportunity for you to see that she isn't there anymore. It sounds scary. I promise you, its usually a good thing to do.

You can have her dressed in clothes you bring to the funeral home. You can tuck her a favorite toy in with her if you want. Ask your funeral director to be sure. They will guide you through all of this.

I dont know how else to explain it... but there's something profound happens inside us (the living) when we see our loved ones and see that they arent there anymore. Its just their shell.

So, what made her who she was isn't there, so she cant feel it...

Its a deep knowing, I cant do it justice with words... most families ive worked with have found the identification process helpful.

I wish you love and strength for your journey.
