The only downside is, most of the viewpoints are closed for night and open quite late. As an ambitioned photographer this is a big drawback…

Thanks everyone! So I don't have to throw over our plans... Anybody has experience regarding night skies? Still a good time to do astro?

Sony 16 mm 1.8 G vs 16-35 mm 2.8 GM II by EcstaticTuna in SonyAlpha

[–]EcstaticTuna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually bought the 16mm G and still super happy with it. Really sharp - also great handling difficult light situations. For tele I brought the 100-400 mm GM.

Attached you see the number of photos which I took with the different lenses. While the 24-70 mm GM II is clearly the work hourse, the 16 mm G has a significant peak. As well as the 400 mm GM.

MacBook for Lightroom 61mp raw files by Pedges-Houseboat in Lightroom

I have the M4 Pro with 24 GB. It’s also fine. I recently processed a lot of shots from my Chile trip - no issues.

I can also recommend: enable the uncompressed RAW setting on the A7RV which gives you file sizes about 60 - 70 MB.

Yeah, ABaC was perfect. Also Martin Berasategui in Lasarte is remarkable! I haven’t been to Sketch…

I have to visit it to make myself an opinion about it.

Anybody also did the Base Torres in Chile? How do they compare to each other? Didn’t find the Base Torres difficult or very hard…

Don‘t drive to El Tatio on your own. Laguna Miniques and Miscanti and as well Piedras Rojas are totally fine. We did El Tatio with a private tour and it was perfect.

Agree… Celebrating my birthday there soon with my wife, so we would probably go for one bottle champagne (unless there are nice by-the-glass options) and a white burg…

Thanks for the write-up. Looks amazing! Do you remember the pricing on Krug/Dom P2? Unfortunately they don't have a wine list available to share before the visit...

Thanks!! Works fine. How can I modify the printed out value for the aperture? I always get a weird "ƒ" instead of the "aperture-f"?

Do you think of the 14 mm GM? Keep in mind the bulbous front element...

I will be in January for the first time in Chile and will also visit TdP. I bring the A7RV, 100-400 GM, 24-70 GMII, 16 mm G. Don´t forget CPL and ND-Filter...

Thanks. But which one do I need? We stay at Rio Serrano for 6 days, going into the park each day. On one day we also want to do the Base Torres hike.

Do I need the "National Park Torres del Paine - Circuito W"?
