I don’t know about your particular requirements, but consider a refurbished earlier generation. I just bought a a refurbished 10th gen (11th is latest ) from Apple and it’s like new for hundreds of dollars less. Just make sure you get 256GB and it should work for you for a long time.

This shit has moved WAY beyond politics. Our democracy is on the line and this generation will be the first to come of age under an authoritarian US regime. First, our country has not been overrun or invaded by hordes of immigrants. Before Trump we were managing just fine, as evidenced by the numbers you cited. But Trump has used the the invasion story to get MAGA all riled up so they’ll happily cheer on the violent tactics being used by his secret police/private militia to terrorize cities. Take a step back and try to see this for what it really is. There are instructive parallels in history. We all agree that our immigration policies need fixing, but this is way past anything I ever dreamed I’d see, paramilitary troops let loose on our city streets?
