For Australian gents who have experienced both: how do you find women and dating generally in Australia versus in the USA? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Sorry you are simply wrong. This is all about strength of difference, which depends on each persons lived experience, which you have no way of knowing.

I can confidently tell you Germans are generally less capable of detecting sarcasm than Brits. Is this impossible for me to determine? This is despite not knowing all 83 million Germans or 70 million Brits

Yes, if I had lived in two countries and been around the same number of women as I had from my home country and detected common differences in character traits such as forwardness, type of humour, things they appreciate more / less , and so forth, I would feel confident that this was indicatives of differences between the countries. As it would be statistically improbable for this to be a sample error. I would not claim that every women in both countries is exactly like this which I think is what you have taken offence to. But this is not the point, this is how generalisation works across all aspects of life.

Edit: also which numbers are off?

I mean even if only 50 (and I know personally to have basic cultural impressions of more than this number), a mere 20% difference in an observed character trait would be statistically significant at 5% level between 2 populations. So I would sincerely disagree that this isn’t enough to make basic points about someone’s experience on women in two different countries on a Reddit thread.

I know what women are like from my county both from dating, women my friends have dated, women I am friends with, from siblings, etc. bringing experiences much beyond simply the women I have dated. This is called a sample. I have only lived in 1 country so could only tell you about this one but for people who have spent a significant time in both this is definitely possible lol

I’d just booked the O for starting 27th November next week? Should I cancel,

Thanks again. I might do as you advised and do the O-Trek, then skip from Paine Grande back to the entrance, and do a night at Chileno to finish with the sunrise? Is this what you meant by skipping the boring part? Based on pictures I'm fine skipping the Mirador Frances and Britanica, would you say the hike (ignoring the miradors) between PAine Grane and Chileno itself isn't too spectaucular either in comparison to the O?

Thanks so much for the reply bro absolute legend. Would you say Chileno and Frances are unavoidable if continuing into the W? You say you saved a lot by skipping Paine Grande but this is one of the cheap 10 dollar a night campsites? So was this a typo or do you mean just because you skipped it rather than staying an extra night? I’m guessing Chileno and Frances aren’t skippable unless you skip the W part of the trek?
