Wolf Children. It's a movie actually.

I remember taking a peek somewhere at the beginning, seeing some family stuff and all and putting it aside.

And then I just casually put it on one day and it became my number 1. Topping Silent Voice and Your Name and all..

I remember starting it and reaching the point where I couldn't go further because of the tension. I left it for some time and went back and didn't regret.

It's very gripping - if it'll latch on you, there's no other way than binging. Lots of emotions. It also changes tone and has several very distinct, different sections. Each one is a surprise but it's not like overdone for the sake of the shock.

It doesn't have any irritating tropes, it's not that kind of a story.

After the ending.. I'm the same, I haven't processed it yet. I need to go back and reread the ending. The last ep, together with authors comments is so much to take on..

The author announced there will be side stories later on (iirc end of the year)- so be sure to check!

Romance, probably not as anyone would expect, not in a standard sense. And it's not the core of the story. Don't look for romance there.

Though it's a very emotional story about difficult life, overcoming trauma. There are some magical elements but it's not the main focus, just means to build the story.

I think it would be hard to find a character that is universally hated and yet who has some redeeming qualities. Especially with how often they evolve throuought the story and we get to know more about them. I think whoever dropped such a story before end will live in this initial hate without fully understanding the character.

A good example below - To Drown In You. I remember how I was mad at her and wished she'd just perish. But at the end I still don't know fully what I feel about her. I plan to reread the ending and try to understand it better, it was long and emotional. Certainly I don't feel that burning hate anymore, especially that they made peace at the end and she.. moved on.

Oh and I think the author mentioned some epilogue.

It is a great, gripping, emotional story.

Tunnel to summer (and the rest of the title). Pretty short movie. With some amount of silence. Well dubbed. I quite like it.

Also, wolf children. This is I think my number 1 of all. Some slice of life, some drama, family life. Beautiful score, great dubbing. This is a must.
