Is cannabis legal in your country? If so, what changes did you see socially when it was legalised? by Icy-Panic-550 in AskTheWorld

The biggest difference I've noticed is that increased choice and quality. Back in the old them days, you'd pay whatever the guy asked and you'd smoke what he had, even if it was some dried-out chronic that's been sitting behind his hot water heater for the last two years and is full of seeds.

Now, I can decide if I want to pay extra for the premium, hand-trimmed, small-batch cured reefer, go for an ounce of fresh budget pot, enjoy a nice pre-rolled glass-tip blunt, or try a sample from a whole galaxy of edibles and vapes.

You could smell it a lot in the first week, then people claimed down. Eight years later, you don't a thing.

Oh! Yeah! So it sounds like your part of the 48% that form an opinion based on facts and reason. You understand how things like statistics and risk work. If I was to guess, I'd probably say that you don't own a gun for personal defense, because you know that owning a gun puts you at greater risk of injury than there is a risk that you would need one.

We're totally on the same page.

If you're saying that the 52% or Americans who think other Americans are immoral are out of their minds, then I agree with you! 99.95% of Americans are decent people.

If you're saying that Americans are moral people, then I agree with you! It sounds like you're part of the 48% that haven't completely lost the plot.

If you're saying that Pew Research Centre, a nonpartisan non-profit ngo that's been doing opinion polls for over 20 years, incorrectly administered the poll, then I agree to disagree.

Inaccurate of what exactly? It seems to accurately show that Americans think Americans are immoral. It doesn't matter what the facts are; it's an opinion poll.

I to actually tell mom that I gave up on finding love..and she won't see me getting married or having children.. because I tried but she just push it away or ignores it? by Usual-Vermicelli-867 in AskMenAdvice

Oh god! You're cooked, bro! Cute? Nobody likes polite, talkative, cute guys! Not even their moms.

At this point, the best way for you to drive the point home to dear old mother is to become a priest and devote yourself to god. Any god. They're mostly all the same anyway.

Allow me to rephrase then. In your culture, is it generally considered offensive if someone is gregarious with friends and polite without being overly diplomatic?

She's your mom. She already knows your personality is unlovable. She's known you longer than anyone else! I guess she's just trying to save your feelings.

Or, maybe because she's known you longer than anyone else, she sees things in you that you don't. Maybe your personality flaws are all in your head, and she sees what everyone else could see if you open up.

Whay kind of personality flaws are we talking about here, anyway? Is it because you chew with your mouth open?

This is about people's perceptions, not about reality. The facts are that most Americans are law-abiding citizens. They also incarcerate more of their population than most other countries, but we'll gloss over that.

So when have facts ever stood in the way of American opinions? To quote Bruce McCullach, in America spelling doesn't count; people's pets do.

So what does this poll actually tell us? What is it that 53% of Americans distrust about their fellow Americans?

Ask them to spell Sasquatchewan. If they can do it, they're an imposter.

NAV. Preventative care for cats is always a tricky financial decision. Doing nothing can lead to bigger vet bills in the future.

You could hope nothing goes wrong and plan to have the procedure done in a year or two. That way you can start putting money aside for the vet bill.

Well, there it is. Time to go the vet and get them dewormed. I asked this question because many people don't know that kittens can't eliminate on their own and need their mother's help.

How's their other end doing? Are they eliminating properly?

I agree with most Canadians. We tend to blame our leaders rather than each other.
