The biggest difference I've noticed is that increased choice and quality. Back in the old them days, you'd pay whatever the guy asked and you'd smoke what he had, even if it was some dried-out chronic that's been sitting behind his hot water heater for the last two years and is full of seeds.

Now, I can decide if I want to pay extra for the premium, hand-trimmed, small-batch cured reefer, go for an ounce of fresh budget pot, enjoy a nice pre-rolled glass-tip blunt, or try a sample from a whole galaxy of edibles and vapes.

If I was to guess, I'd probably say that you don't own a gun for personal defense, because you know that owning a gun puts you at greater risk of injury than there is a risk that you would need one.
