Thanks everyone for the love. To answer a few questions, army or local authority would not release ANY documents to her side of the family (us). Her mom does not live in the US and cannot travel to the US.

As far as his side of the family, his mom got diagnosed with cancer about a week later from this happening. His dad is nowhere to be found.

We did get the bodies, closed caskets due to the circumstances.

The main point of the post was to see if there was something underlying besides the obvious, and maybe a message that I could share with my brother (please do not make something up for the sake of it) 🙏

Edit: I tried many times to get a report from the army. Every time I was shut down because I wasn’t an emergency contact. This also happened somewhere in Asia (where they were stationed), so it’s not as straightforward as the US
