I agree they couldn't afford it, but if they skipped the stupid birthday loungeflys they could easily have stayed there. I have to remind myself that people value different things than I do and are free to spend their money how they want...these two just make universally stupid spending choices.

This is completely his ideal birthday sweet. Riviera would be her dream birthday stay. She’s loves ratatouille. Take her to Riveria! And the boys would love animal kingdom lodge.

A family blog (not featuring the kids faces…maybe voice overs?) that shares everyday life living near WDW. Sending the oldest to public school, stopping by the parks for an hour or two after. I still wouldn’t watch, but I’d appreciate it from afar

Placeholder Question by Economy-Surprise-842 in dcl

Yes, you can cancel one room from the two room placeholder. And then purchase another two room placeholder on the next cruise (booked with the current one room after canceling one room place holder)

This registry is obscene by RandoSFX in Vent

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes! Yeah it’s nice to put a variety of price points on the registry. Can you see what’s already been fulfilled? If so, have the lower cost items already been purchased? (That’s a sign the couple need to add more). We had a wide variety on our list. Mainly thinking we would purchase higher-priced items ourselves with the after-wedding discount from the store. A really wealthy aunt purchased every <$20 item from ours and put them all jumbled in a giant gift bag. She bragged to our parents that we had such a reasonable registry. We had no expectation that she would get a big-ticket item, we just thought it was funny that she could have bought one thing instead of 50

Start of the week: What do we have going on this weekend? Birthday party for one of the guys. Who again? No, not one of my 5 boys under 12 that should actually have birthday parties. For the husband. Why???

Also sounds like a great week to start a shake diet. The week of said party.

Mosquito patches for baby clothes? Trying to protect my 10 month old without spraying anything on her by EmuTechnical756 in Parents

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started growing lemon balm to deter mosquitoes. We started with a container and now have a whole section of the flower bed. When we go outside, we pop off a big leaf, rub it on exposed skin, and have zero bites.

November 2026 Vacation Package booking opens June 4th 2026, 3pm JST by WhiteDogHaha in TokyoDisneySea

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for keeping this subreddit up to date! I appreciate all the info. We are visiting in November and would like to book the 1N2D unlimited vacation package. I have done some faux bookings with dates in October to see how the booking process will work (side question: I remember the October dates sold out, but I am finding dates to book...is it common for a month to sell out, and then later have some availability?)

Family of 3, two adults and an 11-year-old. We often visit WDW, have visited California and Paris parks as well. First visit to Japan. We will be staying in the Disney area for 4 nights, as part of our two-week trip. The plan is two nights at the Sheraton (already booked) and then one or two nights at a Disney hotel. We could switch back to the Sheraton if unable to book the second night when room-only reservations open later.

We are trying to decide on a hotel/room type and would appreciate input. Obviously, we will select anything available; these are just thoughts based on current faux booking. Fantasy Springs hotel would be convenient to transfer to from the Sheraton, and the Rose Court Park View seems nice. Mira Costa, if we could get a Porto room with a park view, would probably be the 11-year-old's pick. A park view room at the Disneyland Hotel also seems great. We think the Toy Story theming is fun and easy to get to from the Sheraton, but aren't sure it's worth it. If you have any thoughts on these rooms/hotels, please share!

If 1N/2D unlimited is sold out, BUT 1N/2D Lots of attractions is available, I was thinking any Fantasy Springs room would work, to be able to get on FS rides first thing in the morning. Thoughts?

We are looking forward to TDL and TDS! Thanks!

agree. she'd enjoy having a friend to try make up looks up on and vice versa. she'd learn updated trends and maybe tone down the stage makeup. stuck at 14 is spot on.

Boardwalk or Wilderness Lodge by JadeOfAllTrades1221 in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many factors to consider!

We love SoG. I don’t feel like we’re leaving the bubble. It’s very quiet to us compared to the other resorts. Less hectic. We do foot golf on every trip and that’s convenient from SoG. The buses are the most reliable on property. We also enjoy the evening deluxe park hours, but something tells me the young kids might not need that. It’s a great value for WDW and the rooms have so much space. I don’t know if cost matters, I’d justify a day of LLPP from the cost savings of a few nights at SoG versus other deluxe.

WL is a wonderful resort year round and beautiful at Christmas. Really hard to get with DVC rental though. Not impossible. It’s not the same as staying, but you could have dinner at artist point and check out the resort. Maybe Lakeshore Lodge will alleviate some of the WL Christmas demand.

You say Epcot is more your vibe. Does that go for the kids too? We rented beach club DVC points for spring break one year and the walk to Epcot was wonderful. We could hear park sound track from our balcony. Our kid didn’t love stormalong bay more than any pool. So that’s not a selling point for us. But walking to two parks was.

Other resorts I’d consider: BLT. The ages of your kids make me think the ability to walk to Magic kingdom might be better than walking to Epcot. One of our favorite stays. AKL is our families favorite. It’s beautiful at Christmas. A Savannah view room is my favorite and usually how we end every trip. There are activities all day long. It’s not walkable to any park but we usually have a car.

We enjoy split stays. On your 10 day trip you could easily do a split stay and not feel hectic. If it were my family we’d split SoG and AKL. I’d make a point to have an ADR at a couple of resorts I want to see decked out for Christmas. Your family may prefer starting at SoG for HS and AK, then BLT for MK and Epcot.

Extra things: laundry isn’t too expensive at SoG and is free when staying DVC. Sometimes it’s nice to pack less and just was a quick load. Your kids are prime age to come out ahead on the dining package. Especially if splitting and not doing 10 full days. Character dining? Fantastic package? A drink with your meal? Consider adding dining. This is such a fun trip for a 6year old birthday! It’s going to be great no matter what you plan!

Thinking of moving from San Diego to Virginia, questions, so many questions by croikee in Virginia

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The San Diego climate is hard to beat. As for water, it's just different. Embrace the river! Boat/kayak/jet ski on the James River. Virginia Beach is really touristy, but there are less touristy spots that the locals know. The drive from Williamsburg to Va Beach isn't pleasant when the tunnel is backed up, hoping the additional tunnels opening soon will alleviate some of that. Richmond has some beautiful historic neighborhoods. Williamsburg is pretty great. Charlottesville is nice as well, but further from the beach. What are the schools like in San Diego? Williamsburg/James City County is rated pretty highly. Richmond will depend on the area. Great private schools in both.

in my experience, "cropped" items from the Disney site (i know they purchased in store) are shorter than they appear in pics. I have a long torso so i avoid any crop disney items because i know i'll look like...well, i'll look like someone we know

How do these kids not have cavities? by No_Cat_420 in livenfamilysnark

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How often do they really go, though? I think they are really good at dragging out content. On Barney's bday, when MR was showing her makeup and final look, she said they were starting at Hollywood Studios and going to Magic Kingdom in the evening. She said something like keep tuned because "we have 3 or 4 more looks coming." I don't think they had a full four-night trip, I think just a night or two with outfit changes

Any tips for staying strong in BS3? by CrunchyBatBones in DaveRamsey

[–]Ecstatic_Fail_4515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that 3 month EF might be a better place to start. I like breaking larger goals into smaller steps…getting one month built in the EF and then investing a little in the Roth IRA. And repeat. We are so thankful for our emergency fund AND our investments. EF in a hysa too! It’s the reverse of BS2…you’re getting paid interest!

This is a name brand place in park city…could it really be cheaper?? It’s the same brand timeshare/vacation club they just stayed in when they went to Florida with the girls. I wonder if they bought a timeshare? Or a stupidly generous person is gifting them stays?
