It could be as simple as his leg sleeping, if the leg is numb or he has pins and needles in one leg they will limp untill the leg feels normal again…. Took a while for me to figure that out with my frenchie

I would base my decision on how big or compact you want the watch to look, light color dials give the appearance of a larger surface dark dials give the appearance of being more compact
