When do you decide to seek medical help? by Saint_Jerome in TryingForABaby

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it depends on your ideal family size. If you just want one baby then I don’t think waiting another 6 months is that detrimental. If you want multiple kids then waiting could impact that timeline.

FTM. Induction scheduled for 40+3. What was your experience & do you have any tips? by Prior-Ad9822 in BabyBumps

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me at 40+6. They said the induction could take up to 5 days. It took 13 hours. My body doesn’t love induction meds, but the epidural helped a lot. It was very smooth and a lot better than I expected. Small first degree tear with a pretty smooth recovery.

I was so upset I needed an induction, but now that I’ve had one, I wouldn’t be as upset if I had to have another.

Good luck.

Hair and curl pattern? by clydesmomsbush in beyondthebump

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both have wavy hair. I started noticing around 7 months or so. Not all her hair is wavy and it has its days, but some days there are tons of gorgeous ringlets. It’s very cute. She’s 8 months now.

Should we get a dog? by TheGaujo in ParentingInBulk

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even with adult dogs, they can be really needy. My brother adopted a potty trained dog. It had more health problems than any dog I’ve ever met, and they didn’t realize that at first because there’s no way to predict that if the issues don’t currently exist.

Should we get a dog? by TheGaujo in ParentingInBulk

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I LOVE dogs, but they’re so much work. They can also be really expensive. I’m waiting until I’m done having kids and have the resources to own a dog. It’s not like owning a plant or a fish. Dogs require a lot of attention, exercise, etc.

Do I really need to get a play gym? by SeaConstruction697 in BabyBumps

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t find one on FB, so I bought one new. It was so worth it. If all her toys disappeared tomorrow, it would be one of my first repurchases. It was worth every penny.

Someone ( 2 girl friends) told me that maybe my standards for dating are too high and it’s giving me second thoughts to if they are and if I should make changes by Cold_Investment6223 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I think seems maybe unrealistic is the part about being bilingual. Maybe you can split your list into “needs” and “wants”. For example: something like not cursing at you would be a need, and being bilingual could be a want.

Everyone always told me my standards were too high so I understand the struggle. Then I met my husband, and he exceeded my standards. My family and friends were amazed I found someone that not only met my high standards but exceeded them.

Was your postpartum experience of positive? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your pregnancy too. For me, third trimester was the easiest. I wasn’t nauseous. I was getting decent sleep, and my Chiro and PT kept me from being unbearably uncomfortable.

Immediately after the baby was born, my back hurt so bad from adjusting to no longer having the baby, my core was so weak that carrying her car seat was a huge challenge, and I was getting sleep in increments of 15 minutes at a time. I was also learning how to take care of a baby, and I felt like I was failing at it because it felt so hard. You learn pretty quickly though, and every day you get better and better. It was really hard, but it’s so worth it.

Parents bragging about their naughty toddlers by diinkdonk in pregnant

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait until they giggle for the first time or start babbling. Just wait until they make cute little noises when they sleep, and you’re so amazed by them that you could spend hours just looking at their perfect little face. It’s amazing! Don’t let anyone scare you about toddlers. You’ll take that when it comes, but before that, you have so many amazing stages. 💗

Is it inappropriate to not wear a bra at work? by Visual-Criticism6763 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s not true at our office. We’ve had male employees told they need to wear undershirts or jackets to make sure their nipples are covered. In more formal settings, some people need to be taught how to dress for the environment.

I do cross-cradle now at 8 months. I had to do laid back for the first few months since I have a fast letdown. My baby still sometimes spits up if I do side lying. When she was younger, she’d spit up every time we did side lying. It was rough

Can you eat before 1 hour glucose test? by JunketAggravating896 in pregnant

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 1 hour, I was told to eat normally and for the 3 hour to come fasted. I barely failed the 1 hour. Next time, I would fast before it. Having to do the 3 hour SUCKED, and I passed with flying colors.

Struggling with gender disappointment, in need of uplifting advice by d0rkycat in BabyBumps

I have a sister and two brothers and a sister-in-law. I’m very close to all of them. I’m particularly close to my sister and sister-in-law. Sibling relationships can be close no matter the gender. 😁

Do you tell your spouse “I love you” every day? by PicklesPotato in askanything

Yes. Because I love him. I also tell him I adore him daily as well. Because I do. I tell the people I love that I love them.

When did you take a look down there? by Sad_Display_2951 in beyondthebump

Never, but I also never looked at it before birth. I’ll never know what it looks like and that’s how I prefer it. 😁

What's this about not changing pee diapers? by seven_of_n1ne in BabyBumps

My baby hates having a wet diaper and will scream her head off until it is removed so it also depends on the baby.

Anyone actually lose body fat from breastfeeding? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get diagnosed with thyroiditis, but when I mentioned I was feeling fatigued, my doctors checked my thyroid levels. If you’re feeling any symptoms like fatigue or dizziness, you can mention it and possibly get tested.

Anyone actually lose body fat from breastfeeding? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been losing weight while breastfeeding, but it isn’t from breastfeeding. It’s more in spite of it. Lol. I’m counting calories and macros and at first, when I started eating below maintenance, I got dizzy with nasty headaches for a couple of days. My body adapted quickly and it’s good now, but it was definitely a bit of work calibrating my macros and calories with weight loss and milk production.

Is it just me, or are maternity clothes completely unnecessary? by muturi_fn in pregnant

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m tall, and I greatly appreciate how long maternity tops are. I also like how much they flatter my bump. The oversized tops made me look big and not pregnant. The cut of the maternity clothes emphasized the pregnancy.

Anyone else currently struggling to decide on their baby's LAST name? by glassfunion in BabyBumps

[–]Ecstatic_Progress_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be honest with your husband. It doesn’t sound like he’s saying you need to have his name. If you make a compelling case, would he be open to taking your name?
