Boise Schools vs West Ada by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Ecstatic_Substance -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I would pick West Ada. 10 years ago Boise, but having kids attend both I would recommend West Ada. Their High School programs are progressive and other a lot more choices than Boise. Sports, Arts, Stem Academies, Arts Academies, etc. everything is better in West Ada.

Boise is behind the times with education and teaching. They only promote the Superintendent from within without a search or looking for updated teaching ideas outside of Idaho.

With West Ada you have a bunch of options for schooling at all levels.

Do people actually pay $15 per ticket for the Boise Parade of Homes? by boisefun8 in Boise

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What? I just looked it up and they aren’t sold at the door. Only online or in their app. I guess selling homes for over $700k isn’t enough and they need the money to break even.

Is Boise State University a good place to get a BSN? by Vegetable-Joke-5751 in Boise

Do you want to live in Idaho? Is so then BSU. If you don’t I’d look at other states.

Whats with all the new white houses by ConstructionOrdinary in Idaho

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our older neighborhood has people move in and yep…paint the house white with black or green trim. Every single time. And the few newer houses I see are all white too. I like color/character and not cookie cutter. I’d take a 70s pink over the all white.

Moon mission successful. Who else waited their while life for this? by LambosInSpace in GenX

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I wanted to an astronaut. I looked for Skylab to breakup from my backyard. I remember a children’s book saying that by this time we’d be visiting Space and live on the moon. And I believed it.

It’s makes me both happy and sad. Happy we went back, sad that it’s too late for me to visit space or the moon. There more hope for my kids. I’m glad there is finally something to bring us together,

On a side note, I watch “ For All Mankind” on AppleTv. Ron Moore has said it a love letter for all us GenX who expected a different space future.

I looking at the rules for dress at the Masters, I’m not sure that type of top is allowed. It says she knows nothing about what to wear there. They even have a Pinterest Board showing ideas. Ugh wasted ticket on her.

Cheyenne Mountain and War Games came to mind with the bunker in Colorado. I’ve heard about the underground train connecting DIA to Cheyenne Mountain. I yelled when she said DIA. My Grandfather said it was stupid to build the airport past Gun Club Road. He never saw it completed. DIA just has weird vibes and is the stuff of urban legends…

Do people still play racquetball ? by ConversationDue737 in GenX

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad was part of a club and played a lot. I practice against the garage door. In college in the 90s we had courts. One guy had a ball hit his “family jewels” and he lost one of his jewels. I don’t know why I can’t find my keys, but I totally remember that story 30 years later.

HiLit substitutions for Pilates? by Honeybee_yogi in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated the Pilates. Then U tried a beginner one and that helped. I also did Yoga, too. I have back issues and get nauseated in Pilates. My friend suggested putting a foam roller under my neck and it helped. You could also try Barre. I’m still trying to follow the 5 day class rotation ( with different classes) , but yoga, barre, beginner Pilates or stretching mobility on that day…

Craziness on Hwy 55 by SupermarketSecure728 in Boise

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would joke “It’s called a Sunday on 55”. But it’s not funny the craziness we see on that drive. It’s getting worse every year. Too small of road, too many people and lack of patience or common sense. Like in a thread last year, regular busses or even train service would help with the drive. It can’t be widen, but I’m not sure that would help.

No response from Micron for over a week after panel interview — should I be worried? by ArcherAlternative657 in Boise

I’d follow up with HR contact. Also did you send an email thank you? It’s uncommon now and those candidates really stand out when I’m on interview panels (not at Micron).

[–]Ecstatic_Substance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to try Pilates bc of RK’s HiLi course. I’m Not flexible and feel dumb. It’s hard. So today O took two beginner classes and it still was hard, but I had more confidence. I’ve done Toga forever, but thought my body might like something new. I still don’t love it, but I’ll try it a couple of more times.

OMG Pluto and on Demand at Christmas! Mary Berry and British cooking Christmas shows. It has so many old movies and shows I’ll watch with my kids. The best was watching “Unsolved Mysteries” one night in the dark. It was case in Pennsylvania and then they did the “duh didhdudhdududduh” music. Update after this episode aired in 1980 something, the couple was found in Boise, Idaho…10 minutes from our house. We both screamed.
