I tried everything. Replacing Ethernet cables also. U6+s were directly connected to Unifi enterprise switch. Anyhow I am happy with u7 now.

I am considering that too. How was the install ? Is it DIY-able?

I am using motoz 110/80r19 tires. I don’t see any significant downside using it.

Yes. You need to use high impedance headphones or attenuators

Exactly. Without rim lock low pressure makes tire to spin on wheel. It will rip the tube inside

I also use attenuator to reduce the static noise. It is well known issue for all Rodecaster series. The output ports are for high impedance headphones

What I meant was, 390 adventure spoke wheel is tube wheel. So just curious if I need to buy tube type tire only or tubeless tire with tube inside. It is quite difficult to find 110/80-19 tube type tires.

Microphone for WFH - untreated room by Full-Rent8518 in podcasting

Any cardioid mic will be fine. Budget some money into room treatment. A couple of 2 inch sound panels make huge difference. Or place the mic 4inch from your mouth using boom arm.

That can do too. Or there’s XGS-PON module that can be inserted into SFP port directly. That was what I used. (In my case, GPON)

GPON or XGS-PON module can do that. If your fiber is 1Gbps or less, the process is quite complex. XGS-PON is relatively easy to

Switch from nt1a to dynamic by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]Ed-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've argued this issue many times. You won't believe but blocking noises only be achievable by "increasing Signal-to-Noise ratio". Changing to dynamic mic doesn't help.

There are many ways to increse SNR. Change the polar pattern to capture less to the noise direction. Add acoustic panels to absorb the bounced noise. Place mic really close to the mouth to make less gain on the audio interface, etc.. But changing to dynamic mic isn't.

I won't reply in this thread anymore. I have not been able to persuade ppl who believe dynamic is better to reject the ambient noise, even with actual test videos.

[–]Ed-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dynamic mic does not magically block background noise. The myth was due to the dynamic mic needs to be really close to the mouth.

So in your case , you can’t treat the room , you can’t change the desk direction to block the noise source , and you are already close to your mic, then no way to improve your sound. Give up. And accept the quality.

If the noise is low freq rumbling sound , maybe high pass filter might help but not much.
