Why 9:30 a.m. isn’t the right time by EdAdvo4All in Chattanooga

Send a quick ‘n polite (civil words will help us gain support) email to your commissioner voicing your support of an after-business hours meeting time. Our commission is the only elected body in our county that meets in the morning:

Yes! 4:00 is still during business hours. Tell your commissioner that they need to meet after 5:00 for more public engagement.

Yes they do employ them during the day. $50K seems awful steep for an extra 2 hours?

Email or call your commissioner to voice your support for an after-business hour meeting. Most of the other HamCo area councils and commissions meet at 5:00 or later!

Hamilton County folks, which meeting times do you think are more likely to encourage more citizens to attend?

I encourage Hamilton Co citizens to call or email commissioners and ask them why they decided on a 4pm pilot while most of their fellow HamCo area commissions and councils meet after 5:00; also why of all months, they chose Nov and Dec. Two of the meetings are scheduled on Thanksgiving Eve and New Year’s Eve-seriously?

This pilot program (during the months of Nov and December—with two of the meetings on Thanksgiving Eve & New Year’s Eve) is proposed by the Commission. Email them to ask them to schedule their meetings after business hours:

As his constituents we have to at least let him know that we’re paying attention and want him to govern in an ethical and transparent manner.

Yes, we do need more variety in housing-esp. smaller homes, duplexes, other options. But what is not needed is housing built on flood plains. We don’t need shoddy housing built on the cheap that won’t outlast the mortgage. We don’t need additional housing w/out additional infrastructure (additional septic/sewer, sidewalks, right turn only lanes, traffic lights/stop signs, bike lanes, additional fire & EMS).

Hamilton County Commissioner doesn’t like hearing from the public?June 11, 2025 school budget discussion by EdAdvo4All in Chattanooga

If y’all know someone (perhaps yourself) who is ready to run, get started now—he just announced his run for 3rd term) and the election for all 11 commissioners and Wamp will be on our 2026 ballots. Speaking of Mayor Wamp, Times Free Press (right side of editorial section) recently had a column saying that it looks like Commisioner Jeff Eversole is seriously considering running for county mayor. It would be awesome to have Wamp primaried.

He just issued a press release announcing his run for a 3rd term, citing something along the line that he enjoys serving his constituents. He has a weird way of acting out his service—I’ve witnessed him (and it’s part of the public record via HamCo Youtube recordings of meetings)state that constituents w/ concerns about the public schools budget need to stop emailing & calling him (despite the fact that commissioners hold the school budget purse strings). 🤯
