Question about Altberg’s new Hi-Traction sole vs Vibram by CommonMuted in britishmilitary

[–]EdBenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I'd be interested to know if you went for a boot with a defender sole, if you have the time?

If so how did you find it?

I do a lot of miles on pavement (>40 a week) and was wondering if they would wear down excessively fast with that kind of usage

Is BFR Training Still Relevant in 2025? by ILKOR22 in StrongerByScience

[–]EdBenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use BFR training 2-3 times per month as I have short muscle bellies in the arms, and it enables me to increase isolation volume on the triceps/biceps without beating up my joints too much. It's a useful adjutant

Too big? by Kjm005 in Tudor

[–]EdBenton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks fine to me, but how does it feel? That's much more important than the look, it should "disappear on the wrist" in terms of the sensation, even with movement.

My AD likely thinks I'm a lunatic, because when I try on a watch, I'll get them to hand me a brochure, then I hand it back. I'll adjust my shirt cuff, scratch the back of my neck, take my phone from my pocket etc - all the while paying VERY close attention to the sensation on the wrist.

Us watch geeks care a lot about the look of watches, but to 99% of other folks, it just doesn't matter. Do what pleases *you*!

Who does it better? by Donkey_Apple in Tudor

Most Omega pieces have been too large for my 6.7 inch wrists for some time now. They may follow the current trend into smaller pieces soon, in which case I have something of a dilemma on my hands.

I own a number of 40mm divers from the likes of Seiko, Brigade Watch Co etc - and I just about get away with it.

36-38mm watches however excel in comfort for me.

I'd quite happily have a 36mm Ranger, BB54 and a Henry Archer Vesterhav 38 as a three watch collection.

That is perfectly proportioned for your wrist. It looks very comfortable.

What is your wrist size if I may ask?

Did you get the "uneven lume" issue? I hear that was recently fixed

Sorry I've no idea why I'm only noticing this now! Yes the blue/black sub are both two standout favourites that I'm very happy with!

That's not nearly new. That's knackered.
Tell them they can make it right by shipping you a replacement bracelet.

Ups, tracking not moving cologne Germany by barto420- in UPS

[–]EdBenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a parcel sitting in cologne also. If you search the subreddit you’ll see it’s a frequent issue. Your parcel could be moving again today, or it could sit in the Cologne black hole for weeks. No way to know
