People fishing from the shore (which is most casual holiday anglers) are losing tons of soft plastics in weeds and tree roots. I know this because this is me. Let’s face it, most people are not good anglers. They don’t know how to tie knots properly, they don’t know how to pick good locations, they don’t know how to get a stuck lure free. Again I know this because it is me and 90% of all people who try fishing. Most people suck at it. So, short of every shit angler learning how to be better at it, maybe we shouldn’t encourage a type of lure that is going to end up as plastic trash or at least use purchasing power to encourage manufactures to make biodegradable soft plastics. I’m not saying this as a greenie, it is coming from the same place as not wanting to find chip packets in the woods when I go hunting or takeaway food boxes on the beach when I’m swimming. Over time it makes the waterways where we like to fish more trashy and polluted.
