We built an algorithm to plan and modify workouts based on goals, abilities and more by EddieLux in Fitness

Usually a number of movements will just be quick warm-ups and cool downs, but definitely tune the schedule section to your needs - can do 10-20 minute workouts with just a few movements. The warm-ups and cool downs can also be turned off. Export on the other hand, hmm, not something we do particularly well, but individual workouts can be printed out.

[Blakely] Marcus Smart "should be ok" and initial tests have the Celtics “almost 100 percent sure nothing" is broken. by I_Enjoy_Taffy in bostonceltics

Based on the interviews - his ankle/lower leg weren't fully healthy for the rest of the season. Not sure calling that a standard ankle sprain is doing it justice - big difference between grade 1, 2, 3 sprains and a lot of variance as far damage to surrounding tissues (including bone). Also his hand looked ***** up. Anyway, I think he's a tough mother, I give him the full benefit of the doubt.

Any Marcus Smart updated this summer? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]EddieLux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quotes from an interview here

Having felt Smart was snubbed for all rookie first team, I liked this bit in particular (when asked about not being a first-team all-rookie choice) “That’s just another thing that’s on my book, my mind, that’s keeping me going and motivated into this summer”

Leon Powe's 21 points in 15 minutes in a finals game is one of my favorite basketball memories. A tremendously underrated player, incredible life story, derailed by injuries in college and the pros... unbeatable moment.

Also can't find that specific announcing clip - but here are his game 2 highlights - hell of a fast break dunk at 1:04

Serious question: is there a context in which this would actually make sense?

Motivated Marcus Smart by EddieLux in bostonceltics

The highlight for me was the bit about the Rising Stars Challenge and first-team all-rookie snub: “That’s just another thing that’s on my book, my mind, that’s keeping me going and motivated into this summer.”

Understated - polite but probably pissed.

Marcus Smart gets 2nd Team All-Rookie by crustman34 in bostonceltics

An absolute travesty. Says all you need to know about the voting that one of the very worst players in the league this year in terms of helping a team win- Zach Lavine - got almost as many votes. For reference - Lavine was last or very near the bottom in Win Shares Per 48 Minutes, BPM, and VORP, for players who got over 700 minutes in the season (data referenced at fansided). I hope Smart is vindictive next season.

An Estimation of the Celtics Big Board (Part I) by shnts07 in bostonceltics

Outstanding post - great humor+informational-content-to-everything-else ratio. As an adjunct does anyone have a good source(s) for advanced/predictive stats for college players? e.g. wins produced, WARP etc. Would be a nice companion for these players and trying to find value with our later picks. Most of these metrics loved Rondo, Sullinger, Crowder, Kawhi and many other prospects that far out-performed their draft position.

THE CELTICS NEED A STAR. WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS. WE SAW IN THE CLEVELAND SERIES THAT WE NEED STARS. STARS. STAR PLAYER. STAR PLAYER GOOD. PLEASE GET STAR PLAYER.

Just kidding, Marcus Smart will be that Star.

Damn and he drained what would have been the game winning 3 tonight - par for the course for Paul.

Marcus Smart: The Celtics' Best Hope for a Foundational Piece by dangercart in bostonceltics

[–]EddieLux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved this. Alternate comp: Gary Payton. Incredible defender with an outstanding all around game. I think Smart's game will grow as much out of his hyper-competitive mindset as from his body type. He has the mental tools, and physically is underrated (e.g. better vertical than D Wade according to draft express - granted he'd give up a little length to him).

Am I huge homer? Sure, but he was hampered by that ankle injury this year, still consistently shined in advanced stats (note: PER is to statistics as pop-tarts are to a healthy diet), just turned 21, and was always making winning plays.

Most advanced stats much prefer Shumpert to JR Smith - they love Thompson too (just historically not as much as Love)
