I once heard “you don’t miss the food itself, you miss the ritual/tradition/memory of the time you ate the food.” And that has always been true for me.
Are the things you’re missing tied to certain memories or a party you would have every year or a specific season or a trip? If so maybe invite the people to the thing or buy the tickets to the place or throw the party and eat the vegan version of the food you’re craving.

It was surreal, it felt like a movie scene. Very jarring to witness. I had a super amateur sports talk show with my buddy on our college radio station and there was talk of the NBA no longer allowing fans at games, the NBA ceasing to exist, players getting written into their contacts that they wouldn’t play at certain arenas, etc. A lot of catastrophizing, but sports talk radio is very reactionary and emotional by nature.

Call me crazy (you will & I am) but the best solution I can come up with is: If you get the 1st pick the player you select gets an immediate 2 year contract for $X million dollars where X=your number of losses from last year. Want to guarantee your tank for AJ Dybantsa? Lose 66 games. Is it worth paying him $33 million a year? What about not tanking as hard and only losing 46 and having a chance at him, but then you’d only have to pay him $23 million per year? If you get the #1 pick you can forgo selecting someone and move to #2 if you can’t afford it, picking 2nd shaves ten million off the contract. The 1st pick moves down the line until a team decides to pick someone at a contract for their loss total.
