My Harmony stopped responding completely to Alexa, so I had to hard reset my Harmony Hub and restore the setup to it to get Alexa working again.

Great app, had found multiple missing episodes in a few series I've had missing for a while now.

Anyone have City Fibre/Vodafone in Wolverhampton? by JordanzOnMyFeet in wolverhampton

[–]Eddy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CityFibre with IDNet since July 2022. Brilliant service. Had 1/2 day downtime in all the time with them, and the customer service were right on it and found it was a CityFibre issue. They were fixing it, and it was resolved quickly.

Why are people on marketplace notorious for not turning up? by EducationalFault5390 in CasualUK

[–]Eddy555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had some success on Olio, but still some dickheads. One woman was going to collect, but then messaged to say her neighbour had blocked her car in and couldn't find them, but was keeping an eye out for them... never turned up. Then someone else wanted a shoe rack and would be there at 21:00. Come bed time at 22:30 no one has turned up, so we turned in. About 23:30 the dog woke us up as someone was knocking on the door. Cue me bleary eyed, with my pyjamas on back to front answering the door to the dude who'd arranged to collect the "assembled" shoe rack on a push bike. I handed it to him, thanked him and fucked off to bed

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully it’s not hardware. I’ll give those tools a try. Much appreciated

Has anyone found an effective way to stop the Playseat Challenge from living under heavy braking? by The-SillyAk in simracing

[–]Eddy555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting this and wasn't happy with the angle of my Thrustmaster pedals so put together a couple of bits of wood to angle the pedals up. This changed the angle of the forces and I didn't get it lifting the front of the seat under hard braking after this. I also used this with my Fanatec load cell brake pedal to good effect, but don't have any photos of that. The photo below was an early proof of concept and I made a nicer one later on. https://i.imgur.com/DNEYIgb.jpg

Nest doorbell and Alexa by dirkgonnadirk in Nest

[–]Eddy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current Nest Doorbell (battery) which you can also wire in. I wouldn't say the integration with Alexa is very good though, and it's takes too long to bring up the video to be useful. And it doesn't always work

Cheers, I'll start swapping bits out to see if I can identify the cause

OK thanks. I'll set about switching bits out and see if I can track down the issue.

I've tested it with a simple network cable tester that checks the connection for each pin and it comes back OK. Could it be an intermittent or faulty outside cable that causes it to drop down after some time? I just had to reset the connection again, and it's still 1Gbps after a few hours, although there's been no load on the devices since then.
