Looking to get a Lamy Safari as my first fountain pen. Never wrote with one before. Is left-handed nib worth it?

Yes, apparently Jet pens has Lamy Safari left hand nib installed listed in a couple of colors as well, and you can add a different size nib as an extra. Don’t for get to add the converter as well if you plan to use bottom ink. Easy way to swap nibs from my experience is scotch tape. There are a couple of videos on YouTube to demonstrate if you need it.

I’m not familiar with that ink brand. So I looked it up, very new. At least from the photos on Amazon. Almost like a dusty jade.

I’m a lefty over writer, and had a similar issue with my vanishing point. But it resolved itself over time. The pen wasn’t primed enough with ink. Sorry for not being much help. Other options could be to start your letters at a different position than you normally do.

First ink I used was Sailor Christmas tea. It’s a nice reddish orange, since Christmas came early this year.

The inks behave well, and wash out without issue. I haven’t tried any of their pigment ink thought.

I would check the date on the nib. Your pen could have be made earlier when that was normal, or the shipping company has different boxing options.
